We thank God for the fathers, grandfathers, godfathers, spiritual fathers, mentors, uncles, and father figures who have helped shape lives through love, sacrifice, correction, wisdom, presence, and prayer. Your role matters more than you may ever fully know.

Today, as we recognize Juneteenth, we pause to remember June 19, 1865, the day when enslaved people in Galveston, Texas finally received the news that they had been legally freed.

This day speaks to us in such a powerful way because, in Christ, freedom has already been declared over our lives.

Freedom in Christ is not just something we celebrate. It is something we must learn to live in daily. We walk free when we forgive. We walk free when we obey God. We walk free when we reject shame. We walk free when we believe what God has spoken over us more than what life has spoken to us.

Today, as we celebrate Juneteenth, let us also celebrate the greater freedom we have in Jesus Christ. May we never live unaware of what has already been made available to us.
