There’s nothing we can’t bring before the Lord in prayer. There’s nothing He can’t handle. Nothing! The reality is, He knows all of your cares and worries, all of your secrets and fears – so that should provide the courage to just share freely! Every thought, every action, and every emotion can be brought before Him with full assurance that we will be met with grace, goodness, and love.

All throughout the Psalms, King David models this freedom for us through a full range of emotions. There are times when talking with God that he is extremely angry at his enemies, in deep distress, full of sorrow, repentant, filled with joy, overcome with praise, and everything in between. He knows and trusts the goodness and faithfulness of God so completely that he is completely confident in simply being authentic and vulnerable before the Father.

We have that same freedom. There is actually so much peace available from this position as his children: Give us this day our daily bread. Forgive our debts, as we also have forgiven our debtors [Matthew 6:11-12]. To stand in both of these postures and give full access of our hearts to God is the greatest gift of freedom. We can ask freely for our daily needs to be met, and we can confess freely with the fullest assurance of the goodness of God for our lives.

Is there anything holding you back from approaching God in prayer with complete freedom? Make today the day you talk to Him about it. Because of His nature, you can always know that He is safe and will always be for your good!

“Be gracious to me, O Lord, For to You I cry all day long. Make glad the soul of Your servant, For to You, O Lord, I lift up my soul. For You, Lord, are good, and ready to forgive, And abundant in lovingkindness to all who call upon You.”
‭‭Psalms‬ ‭86:3-5‬ ‭

In the thick of temptation, it’s easy for us to feel like we are the only person on the planet cutting through the jungle of evil thoughts and desires. Paul the Apostle consoled the Corinthian church with these words, “No temptation has overtaken you except what is common to mankind” (1 Corinthians 10:13).
The good news is we are not alone in our temptations!
All of our temptations are in fact common – ordinary, typical, or universal. Yet it is Satan – whom Jesus referred to as ‘the father of lies’ – who deceives us into thinking that our temptations are unique. Nothing could be further from the truth. Every human being is grappling with the same kind of evil thoughts and desires that we are, day in and day out. The danger in believing our temptations are unique, is that it can cause us to be swallowed up in a sea of shame, leading us to doubt God’s great love for us.
To top it off, we can be comforted knowing that while on earth, Jesus Himself wrestled with the exact same temptations we do! The only difference is that He never buckled under the pressure and said yes to sin, and that is what qualified Him to become the perfect sacrifice for our sins.
So take heart, your temptations are not unique and you are not alone, God is with you and He wants to help you.

“No temptation has overtaken you except what is common to mankind. And God is faithful; he will not let you be tempted beyond what you can bear. But when you are tempted, he will also provide a way out so that you can endure it.”
‭‭1 Corinthians‬ ‭10‬:‭13‬

If Jesus was not raised from the dead, you would be without hope in this world. This hope that you have is pinned to the resurrection. It is a hope that says you too will be raised with a new body, imperishable and immortal, like Jesus’ resurrection body. That hope vanishes if Jesus is not alive.

But, by the grace of God, Jesus was raised from the dead. The story is true. The evidence is overwhelming. It means that by grace through faith, you were saved and made alive together with Christ. Your faith in Jesus is effective and powerful. It means you have believed the truth, the truth that set you free from the law of sin and death. It means you have been born-again into a living hope - a hope that will not disappoint.

For just as the Father raises the dead and gives them life, even so the Son gives life to whom he is pleased to give it.
John 5:21

But thanks be to God! He gives us the victory through our Lord Jesus Christ.

There’s no question that God can turn any situation around for His glory and for our benefit—this, of course, includes the most evil conditions known to humanity around the world. But that is the testimony of His greatness and His redemptive purpose. It does not represent His design.

Jesus gave us all we needed to know. It’s not complicated. Loss, death, and destruction are the things left behind when the devil has had influence in a given situation. Jesus is the Good Shepherd. What does that goodness look like? He gives abundant life.

The thief comes only to steal and kill and destroy; I have come that they may have life, and have it to the full. “I am the good shepherd. The good shepherd lays down his life for the sheep.
John 10:10‭-‬11

One fundamental question in life stands above all others.

What will have the final authority in your life?

What sources will help you determine your values? Will it be your parents? Or your peers? Perhaps your school or the books you read? What about the movies or television shows you watch, or the songs you listen to?

God allows you to make the decision. He’s given us free will.

Most of our options come down to three different choices.

Myself: We can depend on our gut to tell us what to do. But there’s a problem with that. Study after study reveals that our perceptions are more likely to be wrong than right.

The World: We can depend on what other people think to determine our values. The problem is, the world often values the wrong things. For instance, the world emphasizes beauty over character, or tells us to pursue whatever feels good, or declares that whoever has the most possessions wins. We’re bombarded with these worldly values through all sorts of media — so much so that it’s easy to start thinking God put us on this planet to look good, feel good, and get stuff. But that couldn’t be further from the truth!

God’s Word: God’s Word is objective and truthful, as opposed to our own perceptions or the world’s opinions.

The heart is deceitful above all things and beyond cure. Who can understand it?
Jeremiah 17:9

To the Jews who had believed him, Jesus said, “If you hold to my teaching, you are really my disciples. Then you will know the truth, and the truth will set you free.”
John 8:31‭-‬32

There is such a comfort in the word of God. Scripture provides us with direction and a path of peace.
Stop putting your fear in man; start putting your trust in God. Surrender to Him the outcome. Let Him deal with the consequences.

Worship does not fear, it does not run, it does not hide, and it does not look down. Worship is our shield, our hope, and our trust as we direct praise back to God. Walk in His peace, stay close to His paths, and delight yourself in the word of God. There is no fear in worship, because He has cast out all fear.

Teach me your way, Lord , that I may rely on your faithfulness; give me an undivided heart, that I may fear your name.
Psalm 86:11

Have you ever felt stuck? Like you were meant to move forward, grab life by the horns, and crush your goals—but your circumstances close in on you and you just can’t get ahead?
Maybe you’ve wondered, “God, is there a plan?” Maybe day after day, week after week, month after month, your dreams get deferred—and you decide to bury the dream because there is no clear answer and no clear timeline.
If you’re trapped in a state of limbo, you’re in good company.
In Scripture, we read about Joseph. He was a young guy, full of promise, blessed with skills, and intellect, and integrity. But he finds himself thrown into prison for no fault of his own.
For more than a decade, Joseph, who had been deftly climbing the leadership ladder, was held prisoner for a crime he didn’t commit. More than ten years of not knowing when his time would come to be released from prison into all God had in store for him.
But God had a unique plan and purpose for Joseph's life which He unfolded according to His timetable.
At the perfect time, the pieces fell into place. Joseph left prison to become Pharaoh’s right-hand man.
Today, as you face dead-end circumstances, know that God has not forgotten you. Maybe you don’t have the blueprint—but God does. He will fulfill His plan for your life.
Your pit, your prison, your seemingly dead-end circumstances can become the training ground that readies you for what’s ahead.

“Your eyes have seen my unformed substance; And in Your book were all written The days that were ordained for me, When as yet there was not one of them.”
‭‭Psalm ‭139‬:‭16‬ ‭
