"When I was hungry you fed me. When I was naked you clothed me"

Here are a few shots from our Share the Love event this afternoon. 200 hotdogs and tons of free clothing later, it's safe to say it was an amazing event!!

Shout out to our outreach team and all the volunteers who helped out. God sees you!!

"Calm waters do not make good sailors."

This Sunday, we will finish our Winning the War in Your Mind series. As Taylor mentioned last Sunday, we must "frame" our circumstances through the goodness of God. He is present in our trials. He is teaching us in our trials. We develop perseverance in the hard. Through which "lens" do you view your current hardship?

Join us this Sunday as we wrap up our teaching on Winning the War in Your Mind.

In light of recent news and the confirmation that three lives were lost earlier this year due to a fentanyl overdose, we'd like to remind everyone of the naloxone distribution box located on the south side of One Church. This is a free, no-questions-asked service and is restocked once per day. One overdose is too many!! Get the word out and reduce stigma. People can't get the help they need if they aren't alive to hear the Good News!!

"If untrue Christianity is of no importance, but if true it is of infinite importance. The only thing it cannot be is mildly important."

After a fantastic Easter season and the largest-attended service in the history of One Church, I return to this quote from C.S. Lewis. "The only thing Christianity cannot be is mildly important."

I am reminded of Jesus' condemnation of the Church in Laodicea. "But since you are lukewarm, neither hot nor cold, I spit you out of my mouth." -Revelation 3:16

So Church...Nearly two weeks removed from the Easter celebration, how would you describe your faith today? The season is over, but let's not let that be an excuse for lukewarm faith. Let's make our faith of infinite importance like it is every single Easter, because, as Lewis said, "the only thing our faith cannot be is mildly important."

Let's develop faith of infinite importance together. See you Sunday morning!!

"It is finished." (John 19:30)

But before those final words were spoken, Jesus endured what no words can ever fully capture.

He was betrayed by a close friend.

Disowned three times by another.

Abandoned by nearly all who had followed Him.

He stood silent before His accusers as false charges were hurled and crowds demanded His death.

A crown of thorns was mockingly pressed into His skull. Soldiers beat Him nearly to death with dozens of brutal lashes.

Then He carried the heavy cross through the crowded streets of Jerusalem, the wood pressing into His open wounds.

At Golgotha, overlooking Jerusalem, the soldiers drove nails through His hands and feet and lifted Him on a cross between two criminals.

For hours, the weight of all of humanity’s sin hung on His shoulders.

The Son of God, who had never known sin.

He could have called upon angels.

He could have come down from the cross.

But He didn’t.

The sky went dark. The earth shook.

The veil of the temple was torn in two.

And Jesus gave up His spirit.

It was finished.

But this death did not mean defeat, as many people thought.

It was part of God’s rescue mission to save humanity from all of their mistakes.

Somehow, the darkest day in human history is called Good Friday.

Because it wasn’t the end of the story.

The resurrection was coming.
