Did the biblical kings have a specific limit on the number of wives they were allowed to marry?

No specific number was ever given. There was a piece of advice given against having a large number of wives in: Deuteronomy 17:17 Neither shall he multiply wives to himself, that his heart turn not away: neither shall he greatly multiply to himself silver and gold.

The idea was that multiple wives could and in most cases would cause the king to turn from devotion to the one True God. The same applied to seeking after great wealth. How many constitutes too many is relative. We don’t know of any limit being prescribed.

Is philosophy against or according to the Bible?

By definition, philosophy combines a number of non-Christian ideas and beliefs such as metaphysics, aesthetics, religion, logic and several others. The word, “philosophy” comes from a Greek word meaning, love of wisdom. Wisdom is the correct use of knowledge and philosophical discussions often center upon what knowledge actually is and how to know the correct application and use of it.

Arguments on a point may cite science, logic or some other source as the basis for an application. In short, philosophy has not absolute truth to compare its findings or beliefs against. Philosophy may argue if absolute truth even exists or is possible. It actually proves nothing but postulates possibilities.

The Bible presents the Word of God. It’s possible some philosophers may agree with all or certain part of the Bible and base their philosophy upon it but that doesn’t make that entire field of reasoning to be in agreement with the Bible.

ANONYMOUS ASKS:
Why does the New Testament call Satan the 'prince of this world' and the 'god of this age'? Does this imply the existence of another god alongside the God of Israel?

Note the lack of capitalization of the “g” when referring to satan. He has been given temporary rule over this world. In that respect he is the supreme magistrate for a short limited time, making him subservient to an even higher power. God with a capital “g” refers to the ultimate, almighty and all powerful magistrate.

Many gods exist. Only one true God exists. Man can set up a stone and worship it if he so desires. He might make that stone a god to himself but he cannot elevate it to the position and power of God Almighty.

In the end satan will expose the greatest double-cross in of past, present and future. He will bow his knee and admit before all of creation that he is not in control and must submit to the power of Jesus Christ.

Isaiah 45:23 I have sworn by myself, the word is gone out of my mouth in righteousness, and shall not return, That unto me every knee shall bow, every tongue shall swear.

Romans 14:11 For it is written, As I live, saith the Lord, every knee shall bow to me, and every tongue shall confess to God.

Do you agree with Rosemary Walsh, the prosecuting barrister at the Jeffrey Donaldson trial, that Donaldson was "sinful and deceitful"?

Man is deceitful and wicked by nature. When one is revealed to be involved in certain areas of sin that a majority find highly repulsive it’s easy to point fingers. We may direct attention away from ourselves but we still have to face the same battle at our core, to serve God or our own desires. We may see the sins of another as more serious or repulsive than our own but they are no less deadly to our spirit.

Mark 7:21-23 For from within, out of the heart of men, proceed evil thoughts, adulteries, fornications, murders, Thefts, covetousness, wickedness, deceit, lasciviousness, an evil eye, blasphemy, pride, foolishness: All these evil things come from within, and defile the man.
Jeremiah 17:9 The heart is deceitful above all things, and desperately wicked: who can know it?

Romans 3:10 As it is written, There is none righteous, no, not one:

Saying he or anyone else was sinful and deceitful is just stating what the Bible tells us is already and obvious trait of mankind. In his case it became more noticeable and was publicized. He like anyone else can be cleansed and changed by turning to God and accepting forgiveness and salvation through Jesus.

ANONYMOUS ASKS:
Is it unforgivable if I’m delaying repentance or choosing to repent when I’m ready?

The problem is that by not being ready you choose to remain in a state you already know needs to be changed. If you don’t repent of your sin(s) then you continue in it (them). James 4:13-14 Go to now, ye that say, To day or tomorrow we will go into such a city, and continue there a year, and buy and sell, and get gain: Whereas ye know not what shall be on the morrow. For what is your life? It is even a vapour, that appeareth for a little time, and then vanisheth away.

This passage is but one of many that refer to the lack of any certainty any of us will see tomorrow. In effect you are trying to keep doing what pleases you rather than what you know to be right for as long as possible in the hope you will live another day. Repentance demonstrates a person has turned away from something and turned to God. Repentance is more than saying, “I’m sorry” or asking for forgiveness. It’s renouncing something and breaking connections that might lead us return to the thing we have renounced.

Maybe you won’t be in a fatal accident today. Perhaps your health will last another day. You might enjoy whatever sin(s) you're holding on to for a little longer. When is it you’re going to be ready? Hope you make it until then.
