Fear, Excuses, and the Land of Promise
Exodus 3:14
Stepping Out of Our Comfort Zone Series: Message 7

Excuses keep us from what God has in store for us! Luke 14:18
It’s easy to make excuses. Genesis 3:12 and Judges 6:15
Sometimes we open the door of fear. Job 3:25

Excuse # 1: Who am I? Exodus 3:11
In Christ, the past is irrelevant! 2 Corinthians 5:17 and Psalm 103:12
Who God is matters. Revelation 4:11
God is the power source behind His promise. Philippians 4:13

Excuse # 2: I don’t know enough. Exodus 3:13
God is the great I AM. Exodus 3:14
Power of Jesus. John 8:58 and John 10:30

Excuse # 3: What if no one believes me? Exodus 4:1
We need to have a pure heart. Matthew 5:8
God will authenticate His message. Psalm 86:17

Excuse # 4: I’m not able to do it. Exodus 4:10
God enable us to complete His call. Hebrews 13:21

Excuse # 5: Send someone else. Exodus 4:13
Examine our real walk with the Lord. Luke 6:46
Salvation is more than a change in destination. Isaiah 41:10 and 1 John 4:18
We choose what we dwell on. Isaiah 26:3
Power of transformation- Shift from self to God John 3:30
Fulfill your promise in God’s power. Deuteronomy 34:10 and Acts 7:22

Stop the excuses; step out in faith!

Action over Fear and the Fight of Your Life
Nehemiah 4:14
Stepping Out of Our Comfort Zone Series: Message 6

Our work is in vain if the Lord is NOT in it. Psalm 127: 1
Step out of your comfort zone. Joshua 1: 9
Action behind faith. Luke 14: 27

Insight # 1: Opposition will always come to those who do God’s will. Nehemiah 4: 1-3
God’s work will always bring opposition. 2 Thessalonians 2: 18
The enemy doesn’t go after compromisers! 1 John 1: 6
We will face ridicule, threats and discouragement. Mark 5: 39-40
The enemy wants us to be afraid and quit. John 15: 18-20

Insight # 2: Fear will tell us to stop. Psalm 56: 3
God’s Word makes it clear: the enemy is a defeated foe! Colossians 2: 15
Call upon the Lord and seek Him. Nehemiah 4: 9 and Isaiah 55: 6-7
If you get knocked down, get back up! Nehemiah 4: 10 and Proverbs 24: 16
Remember who you are and who you serve! 2 Corinthians 5: 17 and Romans 8: 1

Insight # 3: Fear is conquered by prayer, faith, and action. Nehemiah 4: 14
Battle for our spiritual health. 1 Peter 2: 11
Put your eyes on Jesus, be an overcomer. 1 John 4: 4
We are called to work until the end. Matthew 24: 13
No matter how it is received, keep sharing the truth. 1 Corinthians 1: 18
Crush fear with the Word of God! Genesis 3:15 and Ephesians 6: 17

There is great success in doing God’s work.

Defeating Giant-Sized Fear
1 Samuel 17:46-47
Stepping Out of Our Comfort Zone Series: Message 5

Walk of a believer in Christ. Joshua 1:9, 2 Corinthians 5:7 and Luke 9:23

Insight # 1: Step out in battle in faith to face your giant. Ephesians 6:12
Go on the Offense- Joshua 1:2,9, James 2:17 and Galatians 6:8
The battle is intense and requires focus. 1 Samuel 17:3 and 2 Timothy 2:3
Battle is a 3-front fight. External-internal-infernal. John 10:10
The natural response to this giant is fear. 1 Samuel 17:8-11
Giant is an impediment to your growing spiritual. Luke 22:31-32

Insight # 2: Recognize the schemes of your enemy. 2 Corinthians 2:11
The devil works to deceive us through subtle lies. 1 Samuel 17:43-44 and John 8:44
He plays with the word of God. Matthew 4:5-6
The devil wants you to forget who you are in Jesus Christ. Ephesians 2:10 and Romans 8:37
He works to get you discouraged and distracted. Isaiah 43:1 and 1 Peter 1:18-19

Insight # 3: Know the weapons that defeat the giant of fear! 2 Corinthians 2:4
The enemy has been defeated. 1 Samuel 17:46-47, Genesis 3:15 and Colossians 2:15
We need to achieve smaller victories prepare us for greater victories. Jeremiah 12:5
God wants you to be you as you walk with God. Colossians 1:13-14 and Romans 12:1
Insight #4: Giants of fear fall when you act in the Lord. 1 Samuel 17:49
The Goliath is not just going to go away. 1 Samuel 17:16
Our faith MUST be greater than our fear! Psalm 56:3
Daily actions in faith: obedience, perseverance, spiritual discipline and confidence. Colossians 2:6-7

Victory only comes in an obedient walk in Christ.

Slip and Slide of Fear

Stepping Out of Our Comfort Zone Series: Message 4

Israel demands for a king. 1 Samuel 8:5- fulfillment of Deuteronomy 17:14-15
Saul was transformed by the power of God. 1 Samuel 10:9
Fear trap: fear the loss of control. Psalm 56:3- Life’s situations- Isaiah 41:10

Fact # 1: Obedience has to be a priority! 1 Samuel 15:22 and Matthew 6:33
Times of testing are part of life. Job 5:7 and James 1:2-4
Be prepared for battle. 1 Samuel 13:1-2 and Ephesians 6:10
Our trials will seem overwhelming. 1 Samuel 13:3-5
Everyone around us may fall into fear. 1 Samuel 13:6-7

Fact # 2: Don’t try to justify your disobedience. 1 Corinthians 10:13
God may not deliver you right away. 1 Samuel 13:8 and Psalm 31:14-15
God is sovereign- all the time. Isaiah 46:9-10 and Ephesians 1:11
Fear will lead us to do the wrong thing. 1 Samuel 13:9-10 and Isaiah 41:10
We need to deal with our sin and rebellion. 1 Samuel 13:11-12, Isa. 59:2 and Ps. 66:18

Fact # 3: Disobedience will have long term effects. 1 Samuel 13:13-14
Our actions take root. Galatians 6:8
You can never please God by disobeying His Word. Luke 16:15
Grace is God acting on our behalf. Philippians 2:13 and Ephesians 2:8-9
Repentance offers a fresh start. 1 John 1:9, John 8:11 and Romans 6:6-7

Tomorrow, Sunday April 12, Marianna hoagies orders and money are due! Marcy will have a table set up outside, just drop off on your way into church. Cash or checks made out to Target One Ministries will work.
Please make sure your names are on top of your seller forms. Marcy will keep the forms and give them back to you on the day of pickup Tuesday April 21, 2:30-5pm!
No late forms or payment can be accepted. We are counting the money for deposit this Sunday after church and orders will be placed Monday morning.
Every dollar earned ($3 off of each item) will go into the Benevolent Fund at Target One. It helps people that are in need in our congregation and community during difficult times.
We will share with you what we made when all is said and done!
