Where I live I am blessed to be surrounded by mountains and Psalm 121:1-2 often come into my mind. These mountains remind me that my help comes from the Lord because my God created them.

The word “help” in these verses means support, protection, and sustaining strength

When I look at the mountains around me, I'm reminded that the God who created them also created everything else. Since He has the power to hold all of creation together, He is certainly able to take care of you and me and every detail of our lives.

Get outside and look around you. There are reminders everywhere that God loves you and He will give you the help, support, protection and strength you need to live each day in peace and joy.

Have a great day knowing God loves you, He is good and in control 🙂

There are times when life is uncertain. Things happen that were not expected.

In Deuteronomy 31:6 God tells us to be strong and courageous and not to be afraid and terrified.

This does not mean you won't have some tears and “feel” fear but it means you keep going and not allow the circumstances to get you down and stop you.

The reason you can move forward is because of this promise: “The Lord your God goes with you.” God did not promise a life without challenges. He promises He will never abandon you.

You can keep putting one foot in front of the other because the Most High, All Powerful God is with you. He will equip you to keep going. He is your Father and has everything under control.

When you face uncertainty, loss, change, pressure, or fear about the future, God’s presence remains steady.

Don't listen to fearful thoughts like:
~ “You’re alone.”
~ “You can’t handle this.”
~ "You're not strong enough."
~ "This is too much for you. Just quit!"

God promises:
~ “I am with you.”
~ “I will never leave you.”
~ “I will never forsake you.”
~ "I will give you strength and equip you with everything you need to make it through." (Isaiah 41:10)

These promises give strength for today and hope for tomorrow.

Have a great day knowing God loves you, He is good and in control 🙂

Peace is one of the things people search for most yet we seem to lose it quickly. When life becomes difficult, our minds are often overwhelmed with worry. We replay the problem over and over, filling our thoughts with fear and endless “what ifs.” Our minds keep spinning, and peace feels far away.

But God gives a promise in Isaiah 26:3. “You will keep in perfect peace all who trust in you, all whose thoughts are fixed on you!”

To be “fixed on Him” means to keep a steady focus on God. What we continually dwell on will shape our emotions and outlook. When our thoughts are centered on God, His character, His love for us, and His promises then His peace begins to fill our hearts. Not just any peace, but God’s peace.

Trust is not pretending everything is okay. Trust is choosing to believe that God remains faithful even when life feels unstable. Trust is believing God is in control and will make a way where there seems to be no way.

The next time anxious thoughts bombard your mind:
● Redirect your attention back to God.
● Pray and pour your heart out to Him.
● Read His promises.
●Worship, even when you don't feel like it.

The more your mind focuses on God, the more His peace will settle over you.

“When I am afraid, I put my trust in you.” — Psalm 56:3 (NIV)

What I noticed about this verse is that it starts out “when” not “if” I am afraid.

Fear is something no one escapes. It can show up suddenly, in uncertainty, loss, health concerns, or the “what if’s” of tomorrow.

When David wrote this verse he was surrounded by enemies. I love what he does. When he was afraid he deliberately chose to trust God!

Trust is not the absence of fear; but it's the decision to trust God in the middle of fear attacking. Trust is an act of faith, not a feeling. It’s saying, “God, I am afraid right now, but I believe You are with me and in control.”

Think about something causing you to have fear and anxiety today. What would it look like not to eliminate that fear but to bring it to God and trust Him with it?

● Trust that God loves you.
● Trust that He is with you and will never leave you.
● Trust that He only wants what is best for you.
● Trust He will provide.
● Trust that He will make a way where there seems to be no way.
●Trust that this too will pass.

Next time fear comes knocking….deliberately chose to trust God.

Have a great day knowing God loves you, He is good and in control 🙂

I love how Proverbs 3:5-6 in the Message Bible reads. It really hits home for me.
Let's look at what it is telling us.

● “Trust God from the bottom of your heart” means relying on Him even when life doesn’t make sense. Trusting God is the key to living a joyful and peaceful life. It’s not about ignoring wisdom or responsibility. It’s about recognizing that your understanding has limits, while God’s does not. God knows the future and how to get you to where you need to be.

● “Don't try to figure out everything on your own.” I need to hear this one because if you're like me, you spend a lot of energy doing exactly that. We overthink, analyze, and try to control outcomes.

This invites us into a different way of living….deep trust instead of constant figuring. Take a deep breath and let that sink in.

● “Listen for God’s voice in everything you do” suggests that God isn’t just present in big decisions, but also in the ordinary, everyday moments. He wants to be a part of your conversations, choices, and even your thoughts. He guides not just your destination, but your daily steps.

● Then comes the promise: “He’s the one who will keep you on track.”
It's not you holding everything together but God guiding, correcting, and steadying your path.

God is your hand holding God. He is walking with you every step of the way. At the same time, He goes before you, preparing the way. When you trust Him, He keeps you on track. And when you’re on the correct path, there’s a sense of peace and joy in knowing you’re exactly where you’re meant to be.

Life is a journey. Take hold of God’s hand and let Him lead you through this adventure called life.

Proverbs 16:9 says we can make our plans, but the Lord determines our steps.

Making plans is not wrong. Matter of fact it's wise. But this verse reminds us that God has the final word on what happens.

There are times when life doesn't go as we planned but God is still determining our steps.

This is a lesson I had to learn. My husband and I had it all planned, we were buying a house and it would have been paid off by the time we retired. We loved the neighborhood. We loved the church we were attending. Our children were doing great and life was good.

Then in 1999 the plant where my husband worked announced it was closing. We had to sell our house and move. I had to fight fear and worry and learn to trust God more. I will admit there were times I gave into fear but God faithfully helped me get back on the right path.

As I look back 27 years later I can see my faith really grew during that time. God turned those uncertain days around for good just like Romans 8:28 says.

We bought a house which happens to be the home I grew up in. As we planned, it was paid off by the time we retired. Our children are happy and doing great and life is good. We love Smithfield Church where we are attending.

Trusting God does not mean we stop planning. It means we hold our plans with open hands. God sees the full picture. He knows what is best. He has a good plan for our lives. Even detours have a purpose. There is peace when we know we are where we are supposed to be.

Make your plans but walk with God trustingly, knowing He knows best and has a good plan for your life.

Psalm 4:8 is a short verse but so encouraging.

“Peace” in Hebrew is “salom”. This means tranquility, quietness and contentment. Who doesn't need more of that?

I used to have some nights where I allowed things that were going in my life or things that “might” happen, to keep me awake. Thank God I don't allow myself to have many of these nights anymore.

I found out, if disturbing thoughts try to keep me awake I need to turn my thoughts on God and His promises. I need to remind myself that He is in control and He will keep me safe. Then I usually will have a good night's sleep.

Next time troubling thoughts come and you can't sleep, think about what you are thinking about. Remember this verse, cast your care and trust God to fill you with peace and keep you safe.

Have a good night sleep and wake up refreshed in the morning to a great day knowing God loves you. He is good and in control 🙂

Life doesn't always go as planned. Sometimes it doesn't even make sense.

Romans 8:28 doesn’t say everything is good, but it reminds us that God is working all things together for good. Even when we can’t see it, He is working behind the scenes. He is making a way where there seems to be no way.

God takes every heartbreak, every disappointment, every loss and weaves them together for a greater purpose.

You may not see the purpose yet but…. God never wastes a moment of your life. Trust that He is still at work, and in time, He will bring everything together for your good

Read John 20:1-18
I would love to have been there with Mary Magdalene when she realizes Jesus is alive!! Picture this with me....

Mary Magdalene discovered the stone was rolled away from the tomb and Jesus' body was not there. She is shocked and panic stricken. You know the feeling like when you can't find your keys, purse or cell phone. Worse yet, you're hanging clothes on the line and your 5 year old daughter was there one minute and the next minute gone and you don't know where she went. I have lived all of these and hate that panic feeling. Panic I did! To find out that she went to the neighbors to play with her friend.

Mary Magdalene felt this kind of panic. She ran and told the disciples. She said, “They have taken the Lord’s body out of the tomb, and we don’t know where they have put Him!” I'm sure she was crying and maybe even shouting!

The disciples and Mary ran back to the tomb. The disciples looked in and saw that Jesus’ body was gone and only the linens were lying there. Discouraged the disciples left to go home. They still hadn’t understood the Scriptures that said Jesus must rise from the dead.

But Mary stays. After all Jesus was her Savior! He's the one that released her from 7 demons! Her whole world was changed because of Him. She is crying and sobbing. She sees a man standing there. It was Jesus, but she didn’t recognize him. “Dear woman, why are you crying?” Jesus asked her. “Who are you looking for?”

She thought he was the gardener. “Sir,” she said, “if you have taken Him away, tell me where you have put Him, and I will go and get Him.” I'm sure this was said between sobs!

“Mary!” Jesus said. She recognized His voice! She is so excited to see Him. She runs to embrace Him. “Don’t cling to me,” Jesus said, “for I haven’t yet ascended to the Father. But go find my brothers and tell them, ‘I am ascending to my Father and your Father, to my God and your God.’”

Mary Magdalene found the disciples again and told them, “I have seen the Lord!” Then she gave them His message. I'm sure this time she is celebrating, elated and even laughing with relief.

Today, we celebrate that same risen Savior! Like Mary Magdalene, let's tell others about our Jesus! Let me begin by saying, “Jesus is alive and He has changed my life! Hallelujah! Praise God!”

Have a great day knowing God loves you, He is good and in control 🙂
