Older Adult Retreat (OAR) Day is approaching! If you joined us for Senior Camper Day last year as a part of the Centennial Celebration, this event will have a similar, fun feel. From 10 a.m. to 3 p.m., come for devotions with the Church of the Brethren moderator Dennis Beckner, activities including a hay ride (weather permitting), lunch and snacks provided by the talented kitchen staff, and more. You won't want to miss this fun day. If you consider yourself an older adult, have ever attended a National Older Adult Conference, or are in the 55+ crowd, this is for you! The cost for the day is $35. Registration is now open on our website!

In a pastoral message to the Church of the Brethren, General Secretary David Steele calls us to respond with prayer, compassionate action, and steadfast accompaniment as many Haitian members of our church family face profound fear and uncertainty.

Once again, we celebrate the goodness of God! The Yancey County Long Term Recovery Group asked us if we were able to help install two overhead rollup garage doors for a Helene survivor. Normally we don't work on garage doors, but one of our incoming volunteers mentioned that for over 40 years he has professionally installed this type of garage door! We were able to take a crew to the jobsite where they installed the two doors in one day. This is the first time that this volunteer has been able to use his particular skill set on a BDM job site. Evidence again that God always sends the right volunteers for the current needs!

Recent reports of lives lost during immigration enforcement operations have left many people grieving.

As followers of Jesus, we grieve every life lost and affirm the God-given dignity of every person. And in moments like these, our faith calls us not away from suffering, but toward our neighbors.

Read the Church of the Brethren's newly adopted resolution, “Walking Together: Immigration, Peacemaking, Conscience, and Supporting Our Neighbors.”

💛 Keep the conversation going! If your church is using the Path to Peace Inside curriculum, these simple activities can help your family engage with this Sunday’s Bible story, Let the Children Come, throughout the week. Explore easy ways to bring faith into your home life.

📚 Read pages 252–253 in The Peace Table: A Storybook Bible or Mark 10:13–16. Have the adults and older children tell stories about what they remember from when they were young children.

🙏 Pray a blessing for one another. When we bless someone, we ask God to provide good things for that person, such as protection, healing, or comfort. Offer a blessing to each other such as this one: May God bless you with joy and love.

🎶 Sing “Jesus Loves Me” putting the names of your family members in place of the word “me.”

For Brethren, faith isn’t just something we talk about on Sundays. It’s something we try to live out in everyday life – and in how we care for and show up for one another.

Annual Conference is a chance to spend time with others who are trying to do the same.

Join us in Fort Wayne, June 28–July 2.
