Congratulations Bill!

A life of service. A legacy worth celebrating. 💛

As we recognize National Senior Citizens Day, we are honored to celebrate someone whose life has been shaped by hard work, faith, family, and a genuine love for serving others — Bill House.

Born September 7, 1942, in Richmond, Indiana, Bill was raised on a farm and carried that strong work ethic throughout his life. He spent years farming while raising his four children — David, Suzy, John, and Robbin — and helping put them through school. Then, after his children had graduated from college, Bill decided it was his turn.

He earned his Bachelor of Social Work from IU East and later his Master of Divinity from Bethany Theological Seminary. Bill went on to pastor three churches over 28 years, dedicating much of his life to caring for people.

That heart for others eventually became part of our story, too.

For 17 years and 2 months, Bill served Needham-Storey-Wampner, spending most of those years as a funeral service associate and his final years as a courier. Whether serving a family, helping his coworkers, sharing a joke, or simply being there when someone needed him, Bill brought something special to NSW.

Those who know Bill know he loves farming, gardening, mowing his yard, and picking on folks whenever he gets the chance. But throughout his years of ministry and service, some of his greatest blessings came from visiting shut-ins and those in the hospital.

Recently, we had the privilege of visiting Bill and presenting him with a plaque honoring his years of dedicated service.

Bill, thank you for the years you gave to NSW, but even more, thank you for the life of service you have given to others.

17 years and 2 months with NSW.
28 years in pastoral ministry.
A lifetime of caring for people.

That is a legacy worth celebrating. 💛
