It will be 12 weeks of just resting. The surgery was a success, text book according to the doctor. The pain at times is more intense than before, but less often. Healing is happening and will continue. But…to just stop and rest for 12 weeks is a long time. As it starts feeling better you want to do more. No pain no gain is not the ethos. Too much too soon will cause more damage.Trying to press the limit and work in the grey slows progress. It is time to sit, be still, rest, and wait for the healing to come. The same can be said in our walk with Christ. There is a time to press and a time to wait. Solomon says it so well in Ecc 3, a time and a season for everything. On the cross Jesus Christ our Lord entered our pain and our suffering. He knows! When the storms of life, in the depths of pain and suffering, being still and waiting is best. Waiting on the Saviour to do his glorious work in the life of a Believer. We want to add to what he is doing, it only delays or causes more damage. Be still. Wait upon the Lord. Be in prayer, renewing your mind with the Word of God. Be still…wait. Jesus still calms the storm, still is the rock on which we stand, still protects and covers, will NEVER leaves us. 7 The LORD Almighty is with us; the God of Jacob is our fortress. 8 Come and see what the LORD has done, the desolations he has brought on the earth. 9 He makes wars cease to the ends of the earth. He breaks the bow and shatters the spear; he burns the shields with fire. 10 He says, “Be still, and know that I am God; I will be exalted among the nations, I will be exalted in the earth.” 11 The LORD Almighty is with us; the God of Jacob is our fortress. (Psalm 46:7-11). In His mercy, PT

He is getting tired, nine decades on this earth are taking its toll. He came to Christ while serving in the Army. An unlikely one that God chose to do many great things. He repented and believed; his faith in Christ changed everything. He would meet a girl who set her heart on Christ Jesus above all. They married and would accept the call to go to a far land and share Jesus. Together through many trials of sickness and some hardship, they would raise their family in a foreign land. They not only told of Jesus to all who would hear, they displayed him in their actions, and continue to do so! Their crown in heaven will be hard to describe, but they don’t care about a crown, they want more of Jesus. Many heard his proclamation of the Gospel and came to a faith in Jesus. Churches were planted to continue the spreading of the Good News. Upon returning to the states, their work would continue. Time and health would be their enemy. Both time and health seem to be fleeting. However, there is an incomprehensible joy! They are not finished serving their Saviour. Christ Jesus is with them. “Listen to me, O house of Jacob, all the remnant of the house of Israel, who have been borne by me from before your birth, carried from the womb; even to your old age I am he, and to gray hairs I will carry you. I have made, and I will bear; I will carry and will save. “To whom will you liken me and make me equal, and compare me, that we may be alike?” (Isaiah 46:3-5). God knew you before time, formed you in the womb, carried you from your youth…even in old age and gray. The Lord is faithful, there is no equal! Press on. In the unmatched love of Jesus Christ.

It happened so fast. In less than a blink of an eye, the accident happened. His life would be forever changed. What once was easy, was now difficult. After therapy, healing, and time; walking was possible with some discomfort. Now almost a decade later there continues to be a reminder of the accident, sometimes pain, sometimes the look and questions, but a slight change to his stride is the new normal. It must have been strange the days following the resurrection of Jesus Christ. A new, and glorious, hope. Jesus’ teaching would come to mind, probably with smiles and comfort, definitely with hope to press on. I am not sure what Peter expected the first time seeing Jesus after his resurrection, but I am confident it was not what he thought. Grace, mercy, forgiveness, strength, courage, a certain hope, a defined mission. I am also certain Jesus’ words were not cutting or harsh. His words were likely kind, compassionate, forgiving, merciful, and gracious. 2000 years later that same mercy, grace, and forgiveness is still available in Jesus. No longer to live in the fear of death and bo***ge of sin. No, freedom in Jesus. Forgiveness in Jesus. A new normal in Jesus. Our brother in faith Paul wrote it so well; “There is therefore now no condemnation for those who are in Christ Jesus.” (Rom. 8:1) Live! Live in Jesus Christ. You may have a limp as you walk, pain as a result of hurt past; do so in the new life in Jesus. Live fully in the certain hope of Jesus, “…no condemnation for those who are in Christ Jesus.”

“He is not here, but he is risen.” (Lk.24:6). HE IS RISEN! HE IS ALIVE! Death could not hold him, Jesus destroyed death and has given life. The glorious work of Jesu Christ; The penally of sin is paid, the power of sin is broken, and one day soon, the presence sin will be no more. Christ Jesus reigns now and forever more.

Holy Saturday. On Friday Jesus died, his soul and body were separated. Jesus entered death on Friday afternoon. A death to atone for man’s sin. A death just like we will experience, save Jesus return. The body and the soul separate. This side of Jesus death and resurrection, “…absent the body, present with Christ.” (2 Cor. 5:8). Jesus entered death, broke the doors wide open, he DEFEATED DEATH! The saints of the Old Testament were waiting for the promise, it had now been fulfilled by Jesus. Their souls could now leave and enter paradise. Jesus defeated death! The one who has repented of their sin and believed on Jesus, there is no longer fear of death. (See above verse). It is Saturday….Sunday is coming!

The sham of a trial was over, the false witnesses could not collaborate. He was spit on, struck and slapped in the face. Jesus was sent to Pilate for “insurrection.” Pilate found no guilt, but allowed the crowd choose, Jesus or Barabbas. He was beaten, a crown of thorns was placed on his head, and on his shoulders the cross was placed. Jesus was taken to the hill, nailed to the cross. At the noon hour the skies became totally dark, then after a short time Jesus said the most powerful words spoken; “It is finished.” He bowed his head and died. Jesus side was pierced to ensure he was dead, and fulfilling the prophesy, “no bone broken.” The curtain in the temple was torn in two. He was taken down from the cross and buried in the tomb, the stone placed to cover the entry. It is Friday, Jesus is dead….but Sunday is coming!

“(Jesus) rose from supper. He laid aside his outer garments, and taking a towel, tied it around his waist. Then he poured water into a basin and began to wash the disciples’ feet and to wipe them with the towel that was wrapped around him.” (Jn 13:4,5) The passion week was coming to it’s apex; “Jesus knew that this hour had come to depart out of this world to the Father.” (Jn 13:1). Jesus washed the disciples feet. He washed the feet of all the disciples; Thomas who would doubt him, Peter who would deny him, and Judas the one who betrayed him. Jesus in all humility washing feet, preparing for the cross. Jesus would institute the Lord’d Suppper. With his words he tried to encourage and comfort the disciples. Jesus knew as he washed their feet what was before each one of the disciples. It was Thursday, but Sunday is coming! Take time, think on these passages, Sunday is coming and victory is assured. Now is the time to meditate and praise our Saviour.

They are trying to hold onto every minute that they can. Their daughter, now almost five months, is growing fast. She is rolling over, personality is developing, and she is quickly growing out of her clothes. If the world could just stop for a little bit so they could take all of this in. But, the world does not stop, it continues to march on. During the Passion week of the Lord Jesus Christ, the world marched on. It was unaware of all that was happening, now at lightning speed. Jesus had entered the city, cleared the temple, confronted the Jewish leadership, continued to teach. All seemed normal, but it was about to change. On the Believer’s behalf Christ Jesus prays for, pleads for “them.” “This is eternal life, that they know you, the only true God, and Jesus Christ whom you have sent.”(Jn.17:3). “I have given them the words you gave me…I am praying for them…keep them in your name…that they may have my joy fulfilled in themselves…keep them from the evil one…sanctify them…that they all may be one…(they) may be with me where I am going, to see my glory that you have given me because you loved me before the foundation of the world…that the love which you have loved me may be in them, and I in them.” (Jn17 various verses). Now, only the cross stands before Jesus to fulfill his purpose of coming; to save lost sinners from the eternal wrath of God. Do not rush this week - remember what Christ Jesus has done for you - remember the passion and sacrifice - take time and remember and live in the mercy and grace of the Father found in Christ Jesus. Take all of this in. What a Saviour!! In the love of the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit

In 103 degree heat he stepped up to the 16th tee on TPC Scottsdale. He had watched this hole played many times on TV by the top players of the world. Now was his chance, hit the green and be cheered (in his mind), or miss it and be jeered. A practice swing, wiggle of the hips, and he launched the ball. He STUCK it on the green! He could imagine the crowds cheering, even if it was a long putt for birdie, he had stuck it. He had made a statement, in that moment he played with the best. 2,000 years ago Jesus entered Jerusalem and had the audacity to make the boldest statement one could make. This son of the carpenter from the little town of Bethlehem; who was he to be so bold. He was, and is, the Son of God! He entered the city on a donkey. So important was this statement that all four gospels record it; Jesus’ entering Jerusalem, the City of David, on a donkey. What was the statement? Only royalty, kings, road donkeys. Jesus was declaring that he was the rightful King in the line of David. He is the humble, peaceful, righteous King of kings. “Rejoice greatly, O daughter of Zion! Shout aloud, O daughter of Jerusalem! Behold, your king is coming to you; righteous and having salvation is he, humble and mounted on a donkey, on a c**t, the foal of a donkey.” (Zec. 9:9). Jesus is the salvation that sinful man needs. Jesus is humble, peaceful and righteous. This is what we celebrate during Palm Sunday, Jesus’ triumphal entry to take his place as the King of kings. He enters Jerusalem on a donkey the first time, he will return quite differently. He is coming again!

At 4:00 a.m. March 17, 2026, the third granddaughter in a year arrived to the joy of dear friends. The much anticipated news concerning a tumor has come in, benign. A job opportunity has been offered, one step closer to moving nearer to family, to finish a career. God’s faithfulness has been experienced by many who have been praying and finding comfort in Christ Jesus and the Holy Spirit. All good news this week. If we watch the media, much of what we hear is doom and gloom. We need to hear good news. Here is absolutely the best news one could ever hear; The Good News of the Gospel. We are sinners, bad news, but Christ Jesus is a great Saviour, Good News! Paul Washer states it well; “ He (God the Father) has provided salvation through he death and resurrection of His Son. The gospel of Jesus Christ does not ignore or downplay our sin but rather brings it to the forefront in all its ugliness and deals with it on the cross.” (The Preeminent Christ, pg.19). Dear friend the penalty, power, and soon the presence of sin has been destroyed in the complete and sufficient work of Jesus Christ on the cross and his resurrection from the grave. We can respond to the Good News of the Gospel; repent of sin and believe in the Lord Jesus Christ. In our repentance and confession we are no longer at war with the Father, but at peace. (Rom. 5:1). Now we bask in the Good News, no longer doomed to the wrath of God, but a new creation for all of eternity to “glorify and enjoy God forever! (Question 1 of Westminster Catechism). The question now is; What will you do with the Good News? In the sure and certain hope of Jesus Christ.

“My sheep hear my voice, and I know them, and they follow me. I give them eternal life, and they will never perish, and no one will sn**ch them out of my hand. My Father, who has given them to me, is greater than all, and no one is able to sn**ch them out of the Father’s hand.” (John 10:27-29 ESV) One of the most powerful statements that Jesus would make. “I know them, I give them eternal life, no one will sn**ch them out of my hand.” Securely in the hands of Jesus Christ, not by works, not by what man might choose; but by Holy Spirit regenerating man’s sinful and doomed heart, man hearing the gospel, repenting of sin and confessing Jesus as Lord and Saviour. Now securely in the hand of God. Man does not hold his salvation, for surely he would lose it! It is secure in the sufficient and complete work of Jesus Christ on the cross; His death and resurrection, His reign and coming again. This is the heart of Easter. The sufficient Saviour redeeming sinful man for His glory. What a Saviour! "My memory is nearly gone, but I remember two things: That I am a great sinner, and that Christ is a great Savior” - John Newton upon his death. Dear brother and sister in Christ, rest in the joy and security of salvation in Christ Jesus. Look fully upon His work for our salvation - He is the great Saviour. In His mercy, PT

There is a strange glow coming from one room in the upstairs of the house. The strange glow is from the grow lights for seedlings. Much anticipation and preparation is being made for Spring, Summer, and even Fall flowers and vegetables. It has seemingly been a longer and more harsh of a winter than usual. The days seem long, weeks and months fast. It has been said to focus on something that brings joy and comfort during difficult times and you will muster new courage and strength for the day. Much like the stanza “Turn your eyes upon Jesus Look full in His wonderful face, And the things of earth will grow strangely dim In the light of His glory and grace.” With all of the turmoil, evil, and uncertainty in our world today, the Believer should be in anticipation and preparation for what Jesus has prepared for those who have repented of their sin and believe in Him as Lord and Saviour. (Rms. 10:9,10). The Believer’s eyes are aware of what is going on around us, however, our focus is on Jesus, our hope, our strength, our rock. With greater anticipation each day we anticipate unting with Jesus, preparing each and every day in growing obedience and faithfulness to Him. The song When We see Your Face says it so well:
 And the enemies we’re fighting
Those without and those within
Will be underneath our feet
 To never rise again
All our sins will be behind us
Through the blood of Christ erased
And we’ll taste Your kindness when we see Your face

Press on, keeping our eyes on our savior and King, Jesus. In the love of Jesus,
