It will be 12 weeks of just resting. The surgery was a success, text book according to the doctor. The pain at times is more intense than before, but less often. Healing is happening and will continue. But…to just stop and rest for 12 weeks is a long time. As it starts feeling better you want to do more. No pain no gain is not the ethos. Too much too soon will cause more damage.Trying to press the limit and work in the grey slows progress. It is time to sit, be still, rest, and wait for the healing to come. The same can be said in our walk with Christ. There is a time to press and a time to wait. Solomon says it so well in Ecc 3, a time and a season for everything. On the cross Jesus Christ our Lord entered our pain and our suffering. He knows! When the storms of life, in the depths of pain and suffering, being still and waiting is best. Waiting on the Saviour to do his glorious work in the life of a Believer. We want to add to what he is doing, it only delays or causes more damage. Be still. Wait upon the Lord. Be in prayer, renewing your mind with the Word of God. Be still…wait. Jesus still calms the storm, still is the rock on which we stand, still protects and covers, will NEVER leaves us. 7 The LORD Almighty is with us; the God of Jacob is our fortress. 8 Come and see what the LORD has done, the desolations he has brought on the earth. 9 He makes wars cease to the ends of the earth. He breaks the bow and shatters the spear; he burns the shields with fire. 10 He says, “Be still, and know that I am God; I will be exalted among the nations, I will be exalted in the earth.” 11 The LORD Almighty is with us; the God of Jacob is our fortress.
