Why did we ever start this church called Redeemer Marietta? Thirteen years ago we wrote down on a sheet of paper what matters most to us. They are known as our Founding Principles. They are the opening words to the Redeemer By-Laws. As to remember who we are and why we gather, I will read and post one at a time and make a few comments.

Last call for small group sign-up month! Check out the information sheets on our Welcome Table or go to our calendar page. We have a variety of groups to choose from, including monthly Community Dinner Groups, women’s and men’s small groups, prayer groups, and Sunday School classes. If you have any questions about groups this fall, please reach out to Pastor Matt. The sign-up period closes on August 31st!

We loved the sweet time together in between services for our first Coffee & Pastries of the semester. We hope you’ll join us next month on September 13th!

Beginning this semester, we will host monthly “Church-Wide Coffee and Pastries” between the two worship services from 10:15 - 11 am. This is a time that we hope gives our church space to connect, meet new people, and see friends who regularly attend a different service time.

So, 11 am service attenders, please COME EARLY for this event at 10:15 am, and 9:15 am service attenders, please plan to STAY! Mark your calendars for these key Sundays:

+ October 11th
+ November 15th

We’re thrilled to announce we are beginning our first Wednesday evening church service on August 12th from 6 - 7 pm in the Student Chapel.

The service is entitled “Evening Prayer and Bible Teaching.” We will spend the first twenty minutes of the service praying the Anglican Book of Common Prayer Evening Prayer, which is a communal prayer service with scripture, prayers, and reading and response. We will then have Bible teaching and discussion for the remaining time until 7 pm.

Our hope is to dive deeper into how we live out this radical grace we talk so much about on Sundays: what does a life of walking with Jesus look like? The service is for adults (no childcare), so come as you are able. The service is there for you—to be a spiritual practice and community building for you and our church.

Our plan is to rotate different pastors leading this service each week. The service will be every Wednesday, except for Thanksgiving week (November 25th) and the last two Wednesdays of the year due to the holiday season (December 23rd and 30th).

This fall semester, we will study Tim Keller’s “Praying with the Psalms” as our Bible teaching/study. If you would like to follow along, you can buy a PDF of the participant guide for a few dollars at Gospel in Life.

What a fun and jam-packed Sunday morning we had. We loved Promotion Sunday, the Two-Year-Old and Kindergarten Blessing, and a return to two service times!

When children enter our Twos class, they begin experiencing curriculum and Bible teaching time. To celebrate this transition, children received a Picture Bible on Promotion Sunday.

The Kindergarten Blessing marks the first big ministry transition for children by moving up to an elementary age group. We celebrated these students with a time of blessing and prayer in our Sunday morning service, and the children were recognized, prayed for, and given a Children’s Bible.

Say to them: ‘”The Lord bless you and keep you; the Lord make his face shine on you and be gracious to you; the Lord turn his face toward you and give you peace.” - Numbers 6:23-26
