I want to welcome you to Saint Joseph Catholic Church. Since I arrived here approximately seven years ago, I have been impressed with the welcome of the people, the activities of the parish, and the

quality of the liturgies. It is a faith community full of energy, enthusiasm, and, most importantly, people who want to serve the Lord and one another. Most of all, I look forward to getting to know you. I pray that as we walk on our journey together here at Saint Joseph, we will continue to grow in the Lord. Today we celebrate the Assumption of Mary!
A beautiful reminder of Mary’s faith, her “yes” to God, and the hope we have in heaven. May we always look to her and ask for her prayers.

Please join us in welcoming our new Pastor, Father Michael Garcia!

Fr. Michael Garcia was born in Miami, FL, where he lived until his family moved to Douglasville, GA, in 2003. There, he attended high school, and upon graduating, he entered St. John Vianney College Seminary to study as a priest for the Archdiocese of Miami. At the same time, his father, Carlos Garcia, began his studies for the permanent diaconate for the Archdiocese of Atlanta and was ordained in 2014. In 2015, Fr. Michael graduated from St. Vincent de Paul Regional Seminary and was ordained for the Archdiocese of Miami. He spent his first three years as parochial vicar of St. Louis Catholic Church in Pinecrest, FL. In 2018, he became pastor of St. Coleman parish in Pompano Beach where he served until 2026. After much discernment, he decided to return home to Georgia and formally transfer to the Archdiocese of Atlanta to be nearer to his family. Fr. Michael considers himself blessed to be appointed by Archbishop Hartmayer to St. Joseph parish where he looks forward to serving the Christian community in Marietta.

Edge Summer Camp 2026

It started with messy games! About 15 of our middle school EDGE youth and adults have kicked off their week at summer camp! Their days will be filled with moment of prayer and reflection, games, and connecting with God and others in nature. Please keep our teens, chaperones, and Fr. Paul in your prayers!

Before the end of the Faith Formation year, volunteers from Embark, EDGE, Life Teen, and Journey were celebrated for their time and service. For those that attended, we honored years of service with a few surpassing 15 years volunteering at Saint Joseph. Our programs would not be as strong or fruitful without the volunteers who make them possible. Please join us in praising God for all of their hard work. As we look forward to next year, please prayerfully consider how you may be called to join our Faith Formation team.

Edge Middle School students coordinated Easter Egg Hunts for the Wednesday and Sunday Embark students to celebrate that the joy of Christ's resurrection lasts more than one day and our service to others goes beyond the season of Lent. Thank you to all the volunteers and those who donated eggs and candy to make this event possible.

This week we’ve celebrated the Triduum – Holy Thursday, Good Friday, and the Easter Vigil.
Holy Thursday is the day that we recall the Last Supper that Jesus celebrated with his disciples. It was on that day that Jesus washed the feet of his disciples and instituted the Eucharist.
Good Friday is the day that we are reminded of Jesus on the road to Calvary, and his suffering and death on the cross.
At the Easter Vigil we celebrate that He rose from the dead, and that one day we also shall rise. This evening 18 children & 4 adults were received into Full Communion. Praise God!
