A morning prayer ...

O Gracious God, thank you for this brand-new day with You. Create in our hearts a deep center of gratitude. Remind us again of how much You cherish us, of how abundantly You have given gifts to us, especially in these days when we feel our greatest need. May we always be grateful for Your reaching into our lives with surprises of joy, growth, and unearned love. We pray in the name of Your dear Son, our Savior Jesus. Amen.

Gracious God, we thank you this day for Your love, peace, power and strength. Thank you for providing all that we need, even before we ask. We remember how You have helped us in the past. Help us to remember now that You are always our protector and deliverer. Our hope and trust are in You. Give us fresh eyes today, Lord, to see the blessings that surround us. We pray in Jesus' name. A morning prayer ...

I give You my praise today, my risen Redeemer, who keeps on meeting me in the garden of my life, who keeps calling my name, allowing me to feel loved, blessed and cherished. I give You my praise today, risen Jesus, who walks with me on my journeys, coaxing the fear out of me, comforting and strengthening me with Your presence. I give You my praise today, my risen Savior, who surprises me on the sandy beaches of my so often planned and programmed life, inviting me to try what You have prepared instead. Time after time, You nourish me with all that I need, wherever I go and whatever I do. Help me to remember that You will provide all I need today. Thank you, risen Lord. Amen.

God of grace, when we feel frightened and alone, help us to trust You and to cast our burdens upon You. Bring Your light and restoring presence to the dark place in our lives. Bring Your hope to hearts that feel defeated. Bring Your love and compassion to those in pain. Give us the grace of quiet confidence and remind us that we belong to You, for You have claimed us in Jesus Christ. We pray in his name. Amen.
