Forty members of Bridge of Faith gathered last night at St. James AME Church in Atlantic City. What was planned as a dinner meeting became something deeper. For three hours, we shared personal reflections, leaned into small-group conversation, and entered a full-room dialogue that was honest, challenging, and beautiful.

In a moment shaped by violence and tension, we chose to remain together. We leave this space not only connected, but activated, with shared purpose and clear next steps: the only way out is through and we have the power to wield our moral authority in times of pain. In choosing how we move forward, we commit to being the needle and thread of our community, stitching understanding and sewing bridges where there is strain, rather than enabling the scissors of the world that seek divide.

This MLK Day, as the Bridge of Faith interfaith council, we recommit to standing against hatred and dehumanization, choosing dialogue over division and relationship over rhetoric.

Next week, Bridge of Faith will gather for an intimate evening of deep conversation, outside of our usual monthly working lunch format. There will be no set end time, allowing space for honest reflection and connection.

We come together in a difficult moment, with much to process as a faith-based community, including protests in Iran, immigration and ICE, rising antisemitism, political upheaval in Venezuela, and a broader culture of intolerance and violence throughout the globe.

It is no coincidence that this conversation takes place during the week of MLK Day. We hope to honor Dr. King’s legacy by listening deeply, speaking truthfully, and walking this path together across faith lines.

Please message us to learn more.

Bridge of Faith met today at Rodef Sholom in Atlantic City. We discussed Hanukkah, the violent and fatal attack of Jews in Sydney, escalations in local immigration enforcement, the power of investing in our interfaith relationships, and sharing our light to make our collective community stronger. πŸ’Ÿ

The Bridge of Faith interfaith council gathers every month with one purpose: to sit together - across traditions, across differences - and talk honestly about the issues facing our spiritual communities as one collective.

In a world that feels increasingly polarized, this gathering is the antidote.

Here, we practice what unity feels like.
Here, every voice is heard.
Every perspective is valued.
Every person is respected.

We learn from one another. We grow because of one another. And we are strengthened - affirmed, even - in our own faith practices through the presence of others.

So come.
Come if you want to listen.
Come if you want to contribute.
Come if you want to be part of the conversation our world needs most right now.

Bridge of Faith meets the third Thursday of every month. Our next meeting will take place next Thursday, December 18th in Margate at 12:30PM. Please RSVP for address.

Proudly sponsored by Jewish by the Shore and facilitated by Atlantic City Councilman Kaleem Shabazz.

Everyone has a seat at this table.

Last week, nearly 100 community members gathered for the annual Bridge of Faith Interfaith Service of Gratitude & Hope, graciously hosted by Margate Community Church and Rev. Vicky Ney. Rabbi Cantor Jacqueline Menaker of Shirat Hayam in Ventnor offered a thoughtful and inspiring keynote that set a meaningful tone for the evening. Many wonderful clergy shared poems, thoughts, and prayers during the service.

Bridge of Faith extends heartfelt greetings to our entire community. May this season bring peace, connection, and hope to all who celebrate. ✨
