We’d love to see you tomorrow at 11am

Somewhere along the way, a lot of us picked up the idea that you have to figure faith out before you’re allowed to sit in the room.

You don’t.

If you’ve been waiting until your doubts resolve before you show up, here are six sentences you’re allowed to say out loud at New Culture:

I have questions I haven’t figured out yet.
I’m exploring this, and I’m not sure where I land.
I don’t understand everything, and I’m still showing up.
I believe some of this, and I’m wrestling with the rest.
I’m skeptical, and I want to keep coming anyway.
I’m not sure I believe all of this, and I’m still here.

Our New Here page says it plainly: whether you’re questioning or confident, you belong here. Questions aren’t the thing that disqualifies you. Pretending you don’t have them might be the thing that keeps you stuck.

Stay curious. Stay honest. Stay in the room.

James does not let us hide in good intentions.

He says faith without works is dead and points us to two unlikely teachers: Abraham and Rahab. A father of the faith and a pr******te. Both moved. Both risked. Both ended up in the lineage of Jesus. The point is not the resume. The point is that they moved.

Swipe through for 5 ways to embody your faith this week. Pray, then move. Look toward, not away. Choose kingdom over comfort. Let one yes cost you. Let your past be a bridge.

We are creatures of comfort. We go to the same restaurant. Order the same thing. Sit with the same people. And there is nothing wrong with comfort by itself.

But James says the same instinct that picks our seat at a restaurant shows up in how we treat people. We drift toward what feels safe. Who looks like us. Who thinks like us. And the rest of the room becomes invisible. The Spirit is inviting us into something wider.
