It is a sad reality that unity is most often appreciated after it is lost; however, this is not how it has to be. In writing to the Ephesians, the Apostle Paul stressed what was done by the Father, Son, and Spirit to create this unity. He then offered warnings about what can destroy it.

Blessed are the merciful, for they shall receive mercy” is a clear picture of the kingdom citizen whose life has been transformed by Jesus Christ. Still, demonstrating mercy is a challenge; it is only borne out of one who understands the mercy shown by God and desires to treat fellow human beings in this godly manner.

A person's final words often reveal what matters most. Other than the brief postscript, Paul's last recorded written words are found in his second letter to Timothy:"The Lord will rescue me from every evil deed and bring me safely into His heavenly kingdom. To Him be the glory forever and ever. Amen." (II Timothy 4:18)

As Paul approached death, he was not filled with fear but with confident hope. May every child of God live and die with that same assurance.

Jesus’ Sermon on the Mount opens with a startling observation: “Blessed are the poor in spirit, for theirs is the kingdom of heaven.” Flying in the face of human reasoning, Jesus asserts that it is those who humble themselves who will find their way to His kingdom.

We begin our new Bible classes tomorrow! As the school year begins, so do our new children's and adult Bible classes. This is the perfect opportunity to build or renew the habit of studying God's Word together.

Four adult classes, along with classes for children and students from 12 months through high school will be available meeting on Wednesdays at 7:00 p.m. and Sundays at 9:00 a.m.

We hope you'll join us as we learn, grow, and encourage one another in our faith.
