Who We Are
We are a community striving to be shaped by God’s Word. As a Kingdom-focused church, we are committed to sharing the message of Christ through both word and deed, making His love known in every aspect of our lives. What is a Kingdom-Focused Ministry? A Kingdom-focused ministry asks, “What would this community look like if God were in charge?” At Westview, we believe the answer brings t
ransformation, hope, and growth. Our ministry is rooted in the message of God’s Kingdom (Luke 4:18-19) and its life-giving implications. We emphasize meeting people’s practical needs, sharing God’s invitation to salvation, encouraging radical life changes, promoting justice, and preparing for Jesus’ return. Through it all, our mission remains clear: Building Faith! We believe that together, we can be part of God’s transformative work in our world.
____
We understand that visiting a new church can feel a little overwhelming, so we want you to feel completely comfortable and at home in our worship assemblies. Here’s what you can expect when you visit:
**A Warm Welcome**
As our honored guest, you’ll be greeted warmly and treated with kindness and respect. Our congregation is a diverse group, unified by our belief that the gospel is for all, and that we are all one in Christ. We promise not to put you on the spot. You can participate in worship at your comfort level, and we hope you’ll feel encouraged and at ease.
**Reverent Worship and Good Order**
Our worship is designed to be a time of reverent praise and devotion to God. Guided by the principle of good order (1 Corinthians 14:33, 40), each part of the service is carefully led so that you can fully focus on expressing your devotion to God and learning from His Word.
**Our Approach to Leadership in Worship**
Our services are led by men in accordance with Biblical teachings (1 Timothy 2:1-15; 1 Timothy 3:1-7). While we embrace the equality of all believers (Galatians 3:26-28), we believe that God has assigned distinct roles to men and women in worship and leadership. At Westview, women are encouraged to use their gifts in various ministries within the church.
**Simple and Spiritual Worship Pattern**
Our worship follows the New Testament pattern, with an emphasis on simplicity and authenticity. Each of our collective activities is based on clear Biblical teachings:
- **Communion:** Every Sunday, we gather to partake in the Lord's Supper, remembering Christ’s sacrifice (Acts 20:7; 1 Corinthians 11:23-26).
- **Collection for the Saints:** During our Sunday assembly, our members voluntarily contribute to support the church’s work in teaching and benevolence. Guests are not expected to give—your presence is what matters most to us (1 Corinthians 16:1-2).
- **Prayer:** We regularly express gratitude to God and seek His guidance in all we do (1 Timothy 2:8; Acts 2:42; 1 Thessalonians 5:17).
- **Singing:** Our congregation joins together in heartfelt, non-instrumental singing, lifting our voices in praise and encouragement to one another (Ephesians 5:19).
- **Preaching and Teaching:** Relevant Bible teaching is central to our worship. We believe the Bible is the inspired Word of God, and we strive to follow its teachings in all we do (Titus 2:1-2; 2 Timothy 4:2-5).
**Questions and Resources**
We’re happy to answer any questions you may have about our worship or any Bible topic. Free written materials on Bible subjects are available, and you may request audio recordings of sermons. If you’re interested, we’d also be glad to arrange a personal Bible study at your convenience.
**Come as You Are**
There are no dress requirements—come in what you have or what you feel is appropriate. We are a community of ordinary people who are simply glad to worship together.
**Families Are Welcome**
Children are welcome in our assemblies, and we provide a room where you can attend to your child’s needs if needed. The room is equipped with a changing table, chairs, and an audio feed so you won’t miss the service. If you need assistance with any personal or spiritual matter, please reach out to our leadership. Our best advice is: *Come and see.* Be our guest for a few weeks, ask questions, get to know us, and prayerfully consider the things you experience. We look forward to meeting you!
