From the Evangelical Lutheran Church in America , a prayer for Mother's Day:

God of all creation, pour out your blessing on all mothers and those who provide motherly care.

Bless them with a heart like your heart: loving and kind, comforting and strong, nurturing and grace-filled.

Console all who long to be mothers, children estranged from their mothers, anyone grieving the death of a mother and mothers who have lost a child.

Support all for whom this day is difficult.

Warm the hearts of all who celebrate and all who mourn on Mother's Day.
Open us to receive your nurturing love from all who serve mothering roles in our lives.
Amen.

We have two members graduating high school this month, and we want to send them out into the world with plenty of love AND supplies for the next phase of their lives.

We supply the basket, and the congregation takes on the challenge of filling them up with things like:
towels
detergent
copy paper
office supplies
gift cards

Baskets will be in the Narthex through May 17, and will be presented to our graduates at a graduate blessing on May 17 during the 11 a.m. worship service.
