What does the term 'thin space' mean to you? On All Souls Day, we reflect on the moments when the boundary between our world and the divine feels most fragile. Discover more about these 'thin times' in my latest blog post: https://wix.to/rEQcFC1

On All Souls Day, many believe the boundary between earth and heaven grows thin. The ancient Celts actually called this space “thin times,” describing it as a time when the threshold between heaven and earth seemed easily crossed.Another word for “thin space” or “thin time” is liminal sp...

Discover how a simple craft store find took me on a journey back to the heart of teaching. 🌼 Join me on my summer break reflections! ➡️ https://wix.to/G037CcS

It was June, the beginning of my summer break from teaching, when I was perusing the clearance section of a local craft store and came across a $2 sign that caught my attention.I wasn’t ready to think about the upcoming school year. My mind wanted a break from lesson plans and selecting songs for ...

From Pope Francis' Easter message yesterday. May we remember his final message to us, and keep looking for Christ to show up in our lives and the world.

"This is the message of Easter: we must look for him elsewhere. Christ is risen, he is alive! He is no longer a prisoner of death, he is no longer wrapped in the shroud, and therefore we cannot confine him to a fairy tale, we cannot make him a hero of the ancient world, or think of him as a statue in a museum! On the contrary, we must look for him and this is why we cannot remain stationary. We must take action, set out to look for him: look for him in life, look for him in the faces of our brothers and sisters, look for him in everyday business, look for him everywhere except in the tomb."

Easter Sunday - Mass of the Day. Celebration presided over by the Delegate of the Holy Father, Cardinal Angelo Comastri, Archpriest Emeritus of the Papal Basilica of St. Peter in the Vatican, Vicar General Emeritus of His Holiness for the Vatican City and President Emeritus of the Fabric of St. Pete...

Take a nostalgic journey with me as I reflect on my childhood growing up on Columbus Circle in Newnan, Georgia. In our home, we shared countless memories that shaped who I am today. Read more about this journey on my blog! https://wix.to/hSM8Ji0

I grew up in Newnan, Georgia, on Columbus Circle. While our home and family certainly weren’t perfect, my four siblings and I were blessed with parents who loved and cared for us and each other. We had a house that was warm and safe. The property surrounding our home was family property dotted wit...

My soul doth magnify the Lord said Mary, under circumstances
which make it something of a startling utterance.
Not I accept the will of the Lord.
Not I bow before the Lord.
Not even I give thanks to the Lord.
No, Mary, this young woman, presumably unfamiliar with angels
or divine voices of any kind, let alone those pronouncing that salvation would grow inside her ordinary flesh — this woman
who may be innocent, but hardly seems naïve —says something remarkable.
My soul magnifies the Lord.
Who I am, what I do, how I choose makes God bigger.
As if God were to slip between microscope slides and appear in never-before-seen detail.
Which is, of course, exactly what happens.
Somehow, in being magnified God gets small, small enough to sleep amongst the straw and the scent of farm animals.
God magnified becomes particular, tangible, urgent as a hungry child.
And Mary, like so many women before her and after, puts the baby to her breast, where they both grow vast in one another’s eyes.

Is it a cult? Check the ingredients Posted on August 31, 2024August 31, 2024 by John D. Pierce Religious cults were a big deal in the 1970s. I became intrigued by how these personality-led movements attracted such loyal followers. Some deprogramming efforts —initiated by concerned family or frien...
