Can’t sleep and my eyes feel like sandpaper, but I am so thankful for God’s powerful, enduring Word!

Thinking about James 2:1-6. Beloved, read and study the entirety of this chapter. So much to chew on! In particular, I’m thinking about verses 1-6.

God doesn’t show partiality, child of God, nor should we. It doesn’t matter about one’s social/economic status, etc. . One statement that I cannot stand is, “God helps those who help themselves.” This is unofficially an unbiblical statement.

The fact of the matter is child of God, apart from Christ Jesus, we were all helpless, hopeless, undone, destitute/spititually bankrupt before Holy God! We are utterly incapable of helping ourselves!

Anything “good” that comes out of our lives is due to a transformed life and an ongoing work of the Spirit in our lives. Did we transform ourselves, brother and sister? Answer: Absolutely not! Amongst the various Scriptures I could quote, I site Galatians 2:20. It is a total work of God in our lives! To Him be the glory forever, Amen!

We all deserve the wrath and judgment of God,….but God! But God, who is rich in mercy! “He(God) is the reason we move and have our being!” Every breath we take, every step that we take, every pleasing thought or deed that proceeds from our lives is God at work in our lives!

Wow! Let us worship and praise God Almighty with all that is within us! Help us Lord, for the sake of your great name!

Good evening, everyone!

I want to clarify, our sister-in-Christ, Brenda Wimberly has not yet retired but is making preparations to do so.

Even when Ms. Brenda retires, I/we fully anticipate that she will be playing for us, periodically.

02/22/2024

God has tremendously blessed our church with a fantastic pianist! This truly is an understatement. Brenda Wimberly has served at Wesleyan Dr. Baptist for over thirty-six years!

Over these years of ministry, Brenda has served as our organist and pianist. 🎹🎶
Brenda will be retiring and we are seeking for someone who has a heart to serve the Lord via playing the piano. 🎼

If you are interested or you know someone who is, please feel free to share this information or send us a private message.

In Christ Alone,
