Kenny was no stranger to hard work. He had been employed since he was 13, eventually becoming a manager at UPS and earning Employee of the Year. But in April 2025, everything changed.
A major medical crisis led to multiple hospitalizations and months of physical therapy. Eventually, Kenny lost his job, his benefits, his home, his truck, and nearly everything he owned. After months of trying to navigate life while barely able to walk, he found himself homeless and unsure where to turn.
On January 9, Kenny arrived at Re:Center Ministries with the help of a few men he had met at another shelter. They had worked all night, but still went back to get a van and stayed with Kenny until he was admitted to the program.
βI got better in my first month here than I did with eight months with the doctors,β Kenny says.
But physical healing was only part of his story. For 43 years, Kenny had stayed away from church after a painful experience as a teenager. Through counseling and Bible classes at Re:Center, he began working through that hurt. He returned to church, found a place where people know his name, and is now preparing to be baptized.
βWith the church now, Iβve got people that I can count on,β Kenny says. βI feel a lot more solid and grounded.β
Today, Kenny has a job, is saving money, and looks for ways to encourage men who are just getting started in the program.
Kenny came to Re:Center after losing nearly everything. Along the way, he found something he had been missing for a long time: people to walk alongside him. And now, he is becoming that person for others.
Please pause to pray for our brother in Christ and pray that more men would be transformed by the power of the Gospel.
