Baxter Avenue Baptist Church

Baxter Avenue Baptist Church Baxter Avenue Church began in 1937 as a mission to the Irish and Phoenix Hill neighborhoods of Louisville, KY.

Bible Study: Wednesdays from 6:30-7:30 pm
Sunday School: Sundays from 9:30-10:15 am
Church: Sundays at 10:30 am It has existed as a presence for Christ to these neighborhoods ever since. The location of the church is actually the original location of Louisville's historic Phoenix Hill Tavern. Through the years the church has experienced times of prosperity and times of great decline. Not long ago

the church experienced such hard times that it considered closing its doors, however by the grace of God the church persevered through its darkest days. We are now experiencing an exciting time of rebirth and a time of new beginnings to continue as a mission to our community. Today we are a growing congregation of mere 'sinners saved by grace' who want others to know the grace we have experienced through faith in Jesus Christ. We are committed to studying the Bible, loving God, loving one another, and loving our community.

This past Sunday we prayerfully sent off Jack and the Ayers family.

Jack will be going to basic training for 6 months and returning to us in the fall.

The Ayers family have been faithful members of Baxter for almost 5 years and are now following their call to Utah. They will be planting a church in Ogden, UT and ministering to Latter Day Saints. We are so sad to see them leave, but know that the Lord has called them to go!

Please be praying for both the Ayers and Jack in their move and in ministering to others!

In the last minute of the Lottie Moon Offering, our church came together and doubled our offering. We officially raised $15,000 for IMB missionaries all over the globe! Praise the Lord!!

As Baxter Avenue Church we have raised $7,000 for our Lottie Moon Offering! Lottie Moon was a Southern Baptist missionary sent to China in 1873. She lived there for nearly 40 years and dedicated her life to sharing the gospel. Every Christmas we give to our IMB missionaries in remembrance of her and her dedication to the Lord.

This morning we kicked off our Lottie Moon Christmas Offering. Dr. Kyle Brosseau preached through Romans 10:9-15 and prayed for our missionaries.

Every Christmas we raise money for our IMB missionaries, to keep them in the field and bring others alongside them.
