God Talk with Medene and James

God Talk with Medene and James Unfiltered faith & justice conversations. Unfiltered conversations at the intersection of faith, justice, and lived experience.

At a time when millions of us are disaffected from the religion we grew up with, God Talk creates honest dialogue about faith and life. Medene is a Black Catholic with Pentecostal roots (COGIC), lay minister, and theologian with expertise in scripture, inter-religious dialogue, and psychological integration. James is a gay Catholic, lay minister, and theologian with expertise in practical, narrati

ve, and liberation theologies. At a time when millions of us are disaffected and disaffiliating from the faith we group with, especially Christians, God Talk provides a dialogue about faith and life that is honest and unassuming. We hope our videos can benefit those of us who feel the need to deconstruct and reconstruct our religion. And we hope to challenge the status quo of institutions that often serve and protect themselves, rather than the people. We believe in social justice, we practice prayer & ritual from multiple traditions, and we welcome disagreement and argument. Welcome to God Talk with Medene and James!

Help us celebrate Pride this year! 🌈

Over the past several years, FutureChurch has marked Pride with meaningful conversations and storytelling. This year, we’re continuing the tradition with a special panel discussion: “Living Your Truth: Lessons from the Catholic(ish) Q***r Community.”

Join us our panelists share personal stories, prophetic wisdom, and reflections on faith, identity, belonging, and hope. Moderated by James Reding of God Talk with Medene and James, this conversation invites all who are seeking a more honest and expansive way of living their truth—whether you identify as q***r, Catholic(ish), both, or neither. 💜

Scripture can be seen as a stew, drawing ingredients from various cultures. This richness doesn't distort its value; instead, it can make the text even more sacred. It teaches us that human beings have different perspectives, and not harmonizing them all doesn't negate their validity.
