Hey pastors or church leaders, here's a message for you!

________

In San Diego, one pastor’s journey through TUMI training became the beginning of something much bigger: a growing network of church leaders equipped to love their neighbors, teach God’s Word, and bring hope to a community facing hardship.

Through World Impact, leaders are being trained to not only lead within the church, but to walk alongside their communities with compassion, consistency, and purpose.

On June 19, 1865, enslaved people in Galveston, Texas, finally received the news that they had been declared free, nearly two and a half years after the Emancipation Proclamation was issued. This moment became a powerful reminder that freedom, though promised, has not always been immediately experienced by all.

As followers of Christ, Juneteenth invites us to reflect on the heart of God. He sees the oppressed, and He calls us to pursue justice and mercy.

At World Impact, we believe the local church is called to be a witness of God’s Kingdom, bringing hope and restoration to communities experiencing poverty and often oppression. We equip local leaders to step into their communities and address issues in practical and biblical ways, so they can be the hands and feet of Jesus. Juneteenth reminds us that the work of reconciliation is ongoing, and that we are here to reflect Christ’s love through the way we serve and walk alongside our neighbors.

“The Spirit of the Lord is on Me, because He has anointed Me to preach good news to the poor. He has sent Me to proclaim freedom to the captives and recovery of sight to the blind, to set free the oppressed,” Luke 4:18

Today we honor the generations who persevered and carried faith through unimaginable circumstances. We celebrate the strength and resilience of Black communities, while also recognizing that there is still work to be done in empowering these communities.

May we continue to seek the freedom and healing that Christ offers and calls us towards. Let us faithfully pursue a world that reflects His Kingdom by loving our neighbors and working together for the good of all.

God is moving in Nicaragua. 🇳🇮

During a 10-day ministry trip, World Impact leaders met with 13 churches across Estelí, Managua, and Pueblo Nuevo to listen, encourage, and equip pastors and ministry leaders hungry to see the gospel advance.

Through listening summits, church planting training, and TUMI graduations, around 45 leaders were encouraged and strengthened to continue building healthy churches in communities experiencing poverty.

Even amid hardship and uncertainty, Nicaraguan leaders shared a deep desire for biblical training, leadership development, and resources to reach their communities.

One pastor, Marlon, came carrying the weight of grief and discouragement—but through prayer, encouragement, and time together, God renewed his passion for ministry.

“They are thirsty for more,” shared Ministry Mobilizer, Alejandro Alvarado. “It’s amazing how God is moving there.”

Please continue praying for the leaders, churches, and communities being transformed through the work God is doing in Nicaragua. 🙏

Serving in the hardest places requires wisdom, preparation, and a plan for the weight that comes with the work.

Urban leaders are often walking through the “mud” of broken systems, deep wounds, and generational struggles. You can't avoid the work but you can learn how to process, heal, and continue serving from a place of wholeness.

Redemptive poverty work calls us to enter difficult spaces with compassion while staying rooted in the truth, grace, and restoration of Christ.

Discover practical tools for leaders who want to serve their communities without losing themselves in the process. The Redemptive Poverty Work: Expanded Edition is available now!

Real community transformation starts with people who are willing to stay present.

In one San Diego neighborhood, pastors and church leaders trained through World Impact are building trust one conversation, one prayer, and one relationship at a time. Through TUMI, they’re being equipped to disciple others, strengthen the local church, and serve their community with long-term commitment and care.

What began with one trained leader is now multiplying across families, churches, and future leaders.

Praise the Lord for what He did at the IGNITE Facilitator Gathering in Indianapolis! 🙌

More than a conference, IGNITE became a sacred space for leaders to experience encouragement, healing, worship, laughter, and deep connection.

Created for World Impact Trauma Healing facilitators who often pour into others while carrying the weight of ministry, this gathering brought together 20 leaders from diverse backgrounds for a time of rest, renewal, and equipping.

Throughout the weekend, God moved through prayer, honest conversations, collaboration, and community. Leaders walked away feeling seen, refreshed, and reignited for the work God has called them to.

“Belonging changes people.” When leaders are connected and encouraged, they return to their communities healthier, stronger, and better equipped to serve.

We’re grateful for what God is doing through IGNITE and excited for the ways He will continue strengthening leaders and advancing His mission in communities experiencing poverty. ❤️

Burnout is often worn as a badge of honor in ministry and service work. We tell ourselves that exhaustion is proof of commitment, that carrying more is evidence of faithfulness.

But God's Kingdom was never designed to rest on our shoulders.

When we operate as though everything depends on us, we forget who is truly in control. We were called to be faithful servants, not sovereign rulers. The work belongs to God, and He invites us to participate in it.

In Redemptive Poverty Work: Expanded Edition, Dr. Alvin Sanders explores how ministry leaders, pastors, and practitioners can pursue meaningful, long-term impact without falling into the traps of saviorism, burnout, and self-reliance.

If you're tired, stretched thin, or wondering whether there is a healthier way to serve, this book offers a refreshing biblical perspective.

Change rarely happens overnight. More often, it grows quietly through faithful people who choose to stay, serve, and love their community well.

In San Diego, one pastor’s training through World Impact is now multiplying through families, churches, and new leaders being equipped to serve neighborhoods experiencing poverty with hope and consistency.

Through TUMI, local church leaders are learning not just to teach, but to walk alongside their community, build trust, and create lasting impact.

Every day, teenagers in communities experiencing poverty are carrying pain that many adults never see — anxiety, violence, grief, loneliness, and instability at home. Su***de rates among teens continue to rise, and many young people are struggling without safe, trusted adults to help them process the trauma they carry.

Through Teen Trauma Healing, World Impact equips pastors, youth leaders, and ministry workers with biblical truth and practical trauma care tools so they can walk alongside hurting teens with compassion and hope.

One young leader recently shared that if she had received this kind of Christ-centered support as a teenager, it could have changed the course of her life.

Right now, a generous donor has provided a $40,000 challenge gift to help expand this ministry before June 30.

Will you answer the challenge and help bring healing and hope to vulnerable teens?
