Celebrate with us as we recognize Donna Nadel and her extraordinary years of leadership at Wilshire Boulevard Temple. As Executive Director, Donna has guided our community through a defining time in the life of our synagogue, including moments of growth, challenge, and transition. Together, we will reflect on her impact, celebrate all that Wilshire has accomplished under her leadership, and gather as a community in joy and gratitude as she prepares for her retirement. Following services, all are invited to a festive Oneg in Donna’s honor.

Celebrate Shavuot Shabbat in a joyful service commemorating the giving of the Torah at Mount Sinai, inviting us to renew our commitment to Jewish life. Members of past Choosing Judaism cohorts will speak, we will recite Yizkor prayers in remembrance of loved ones who have passed, and hear from Tanya Bennett, Consul General of Australia in Los Angeles, about the tragedy at Bondi Beach.

This Simchat Torah, our celebration carried deeper meaning. We danced with the Torah in our arms and hope in our hearts — for freedom, for unity, and for the safe return of the hostages. May our joy be a prayer for peace. ✡️

In the wake of devastating attacks outside a temple in the UK, we find ourselves as a community shocked, angry, and scared for our people. And yet, as Rabbi Leder reminds us on this sacred night of Kol Nidre, we look to the sunflower—a symbol of strength and regeneration.
