We were honored to welcome Tony Thurmond to worship today at Phillips Temple CME Church.

Dr. Thurmond currently serves as California’s Superintendent of Public Instruction and is offering himself as a candidate for Governor of the State of California. We appreciate his willingness to join us in worship, fellowship, and community as we continue our mission of transforming individuals and communities through the love of Christ.

At Phillips Temple, we believe the Church has an important role in praying for and engaging with leaders from every sector of society. We are grateful for the opportunity to welcome Dr. Thurmond and extend our prayers for wisdom, discernment, and servant leadership as he continues his work on behalf of the people of California.
