LUUP Dinner Church April 10th at 5:30: Embracing the Possibility of a New World - with Jen Friedman
“Another world is not only possible, she is on her way. On a quiet day, I can hear her breathing.”
Arundhati Roy’s assessment invites us to embrace the possibility of a world transformed by mutuality, creativity, radical love and peace.
Most of us are aware that we stand on the verge of our collective becoming but we know not yet what it is that we shall become. It is here in the threshold time that we daily encounter the work of “both/and.”
Even as we engage the hard and messy work that justice requires, we have a chance to bring gratitude, mindfulness and kindness to every interaction. This time offers us the opportunity to cultivate the habit of awareness and fall in love with every moment.
During times of great uncertainty, our daily environments take on extra-ordinary roles. Our spiritual communities, neighbors, and even the exchange with the grocery store clerk become important touchstones for stability, well-being and meaning making in our lives.
Let us gather in song, in dance, in creative conversation as we breathe the new world into existence together.
