Last Sunday we looked at 2 Peter 1:2-11.

Peter warns us to not be ineffective and unproductive in our knowledge of God. We must make every effort to find our calling and live it out. By living this way, in strong pursuit, we will never stumble.

This Sunday we’ll be hosting a bake sale before and after service to contribute towards the cost of youth convention!

In 2 Peter, Paul writes to all believers encouraging them to continue on in their spiritual journey. The Word of God is alive and carried by the Holy Spirit. Prayer and Bible reading are key to the spiritual growth of a believer. As we continue to grow in our faith, it becomes easier to ignore the flesh and follow the spirit.

If you want to grow spiritually mature, don’t be afraid to ask Him how.

We are called to stand out as ambassadors for Christ.

We need to live according to his holy purpose, even in the persecution and suffering. Repaying hatred with kindness. Staying humble, kind, and listening to others.

Desire a satisfying life, which comes from being in reverence of God.

In 1 Peter Paul shares some guidance on a healthy marriage:
- Prayer is a corporate activity
- Personal, private prayer takes place as well
- Wives are to hold men accountable, without chastisement. Trying to do their biblical job of putting him at the head of the household where he belongs and pushing him forward in the direction he needs to go.
- Husbands are to be considerate of their wives. They must place their wives ahead of themselves, putting her needs in the front of every choice they make.

We are a chosen people.

The church has become the one that is accomplishing God’s work. He selected us and wants us to show Him to the world.
So, we must go shine and pursue holiness and serve eachother. We must provoke and hold up the word of God.
