Exciting things are happening at FBLR! We're thrilled to welcome Dr. Mark Tolbert as our Interim Pastor starting July 12. He and his wife Joy have already been such an encouragement to us and we’re grateful for the opportunity to serve the Lord alongside them.

Brother Mark shares, “After much prayer, I believe the Lord has set before me this opportunity to provide encouragement, leadership and pastoral ministry for First Baptist Church. We are looking forward to this season of ministry with you.”

Bro. Mark is a well-respected ministry veteran. Of note, he was on the faculty at New Orleans Baptist Theological Seminary for 15 years where he also served as director of the Doctor of Ministry Program and is the founding director of the Caskey Center for Church Excellence. In 2024-2025, Dr. Tolbert served as the evangelism and revitalization strategist for the ABSC Evangelism + Church Health Team.

Mark and Joy have two grown children, five grandchildren, and a new great-grandchild — all of whom we can’t wait to meet!
