The Moravian Covenant of Christian Living

V. Our Witness in the World

A. Love Toward All

29. We will not hate, despise, slander, or otherwise injure anyone. We will ever strive to manifest love towards all people, to treat them in a kind and friendly manner, and in our dealings with them to approve ourselves upright, honest, and conscientious, as becomes children of God. Together with the universal Christian Church, we have a concern for this world, opening our heart and hand to our neighbors with the message of the love of God, and being ever ready to minister of our substance to their necessities (Matthew 25:40).

Pastor Mandy sang beautifully during her Installation today as co-pastor at Lititz Moravian Church. Enjoy the sweet song with the Senior Choir.

Today was a busy day in Worship. The Reverend Doctor Mandy Mastros, LSW was installed as co-pastor, and it was also Trombone Choir Sunday. Here's a sample: "There Is A Balm in Gilead", African American Spiritual, Arr., Lloyd Larson

At the conclusion of each Memorial Day Parade, the community gathers in God’s Acre at Lititz Moravian Church for a brief ceremony to honor and remember those who gave the ultimate sacrifice in service to our nation.

Despite the inclement weather and passing rain showers, it was humbling to see so many people remain to pay their respects and reflect on the freedoms secured by the courage of others.

As another Memorial Day has passed, we carry forward a renewed sense of gratitude for those who gave everything for our country, honoring their memory not only on one day, but throughout the year.

All are welcome to come and experience the Lititz Moravian Trombone Choir this Sunday at 10:30am for Trombone Choir Sunday. Hear the music that has been a tradition of the Trombone Choir here in Lititz since 1771.

You would also be joining a momentous day as we celebrate the installation of our new co-pastor, Rev. Dr. Mandy M. Mastros.

As the American Revolution raged on, Moravian communities in North America strove to remain neutral in the conflict. Despite their efforts, a number of these communities were required by the Continental Army to act as hospitals for the wounded and ill soldiers. Learn about how this played out in Lititz, Pennsylvania in this fifth in a series of monthly posts on the Moravians and the Revolutionary War.

This past weekend, Lititz Moravian Church celebrated a special milestone as our Confirmands were recognized through Confirmation Sunday.

Throughout their confirmation journey, these young people spent time growing in faith, learning more deeply about God’s love, the church, and what it means to follow Christ in their daily lives. It was a joyful and meaningful day as they affirmed their faith surrounded by the love and support of their church family.

We are incredibly proud of our Confirmands and grateful for the mentors, teachers, families, and pastors who walked alongside them during this important season.

Please continue to keep these young people in your prayers as they continue growing in faith, wisdom, and service.

“Let your light shine before others.”
