St. James Catholic Church's Knights of Columbus Council (St. James Lititz) serves both the church and community, conducting fundraisers, cooking and performing kitchen duties for church functions, sponsor youth basketball and soccer competitions and more.

"You can be a wonderful person, but we derive part of our inspiration from our Christian teachings and upbringings," said Rick Thompson, who's been St. James' Knights' membership director for two years. “Blessed are the poor in spirit, for theirs is the kingdom of heaven.” Matthew 5:3

In today’s Gospel, Jesus reveals a surprising vision of holiness. He calls blessed those the world often overlooks: the humble, the merciful, the sorrowful, the peacemakers, and those who remain faithful in the face of hardship.

The Beatitudes invite us to trust that God’s ways are not the world’s ways, and that true happiness is found in living close to His heart.

🙏 Lord, shape our hearts according to Yours, and help us live the joy of the Beatitudes each day.
