Contemplate Lincoln

Contemplate Lincoln We are a non-profit hub for contemplative prayer and practice in the Christian tradition. Through this sacramental tapestry, we and our world are transformed.

Our mission is to provide a safe, participatory, and holy space to foster spiritual growth deepening our love for God, ourselves, neighbors, and all of creation. We are a hub for Christian contemplative prayer, spiritual practice, and living. In communion with others we participate in the Christ mystery through contemplative practice, learning, growing, and doing life together. As a community, we

live this out through a commitment to a daily spiritual practice, compassionate action, cultivating mature self knowledge, creation care, and growing in God’s wisdom and grace. There are a variety of spiritual disciplines one may commit to live out a rule of life.

Something meaningful is emerging.

Last month, 3CN (The Contemplative Community Creators Network) had its 5th annual retreat. We gathered for 6 days in beautiful Bozeman, Montana. Joselyn and I founded 3CN 5 years ago out of a desire to connect and network with others building a contemplative community. The network now stands at 23 members and is growing.

The retreat was a powerful reminder that the contemplative tradition is alive and evolving. Across the country, new ecosystems of spiritual practice and community are taking shape, offering grounded ways of being in a rapidly changing world.

In this month's newsletter, we reflect on the retreat, the gift of connection, and what may be emerging as Contemplate Lincoln approaches its 10th year.

Join us on the prairie for a sacred afternoon of connection, reflection, and renewal

📅 Sunday, May 24, 2026
⏰ 1:00 PM Central Time
📍 Pioneers Park Nature Center

Come celebrate God’s creation and our connection to the Earth and one another through poetry, mindfulness, meditation, drumming, and a peaceful walk through the beautiful prairie landscape.

We’ll begin with reflections, drumming, and meditation before exploring the majestic trails of Pioneers Park together. Those who prefer not to walk are welcome to relax on the Nature Center deck overlooking the prairie and buffalo. We often close with a joyful drumming circle, no experience needed!

Bring:
• A chair
• A water bottle
• A drum (some provided)
The Nature Center and deck are wheelchair accessible.

Whether you come for quiet reflection, community, nature, or rhythm, all are welcome.

In a world overflowing with noise, certainty, and competing truths, what if the spiritual path is not about having all the answers but learning how to live faithfully within mystery?

Our latest newsletter explores the contemplative wisdom of “unknowing,” inspired by the mystics and the upcoming Contemplative Conversation Circles featuring Make Your Home in This Luminous Dark by James K. A. Smith.

This issue reflects on uncertainty, contemplation, surrender, and the possibility of discovering a deeper, more tender way of being in the world.
