WHAT FAMILIARITY QUIETLY DOES TO FAITH

We once understood the weight of God's glory. Somehow, that's been lost.

We've been in church a long time. We know the vocabulary, we know the songs. And in all that familiarity, God has gotten smaller.

Not because we chose smallness. Because of a subtle erosion, a slow drift from keeping Him high and lifted up.

We used to feel the weight on Sunday gatherings. Now we mostly evaluate them.

We used to pray with urgency. Now it mostly feels like a box to check.

We used to read the Bible and sense the Holy Spirit speaking. We'd underline things, write things down. Now it's mostly background noise.

But the God of Isaiah 6 hasn't gotten smaller. He's still high and lifted up, still filling the temple with His glory, and the seraphim are still crying, "Holy, holy, holy."

We don't need more information. We need a profound encounter with the living God. Isaiah didn't engineer his vision. It wasn't lighting or a polished worship team. It was an encounter with a holy God, and that's what He longs to give us.

Their sacrifice gave us the freedoms we enjoy every day, and we are deeply grateful. As we gather with family and friends this Memorial Day, may we never forget those who gave everything for others.
