Vaidik Chanting is said to help develop one's mental powers and strength, ease stress, provide wisdom and take one to a higher level of consciousness.

Let's read out the following mantra from Rigved (8-96-01) and contemplate.

शिक्षा शचिष्ठ गातुवित् ॥
Shikshaa shachishtha gaatuvit.
Teach us, O wise teacher, to know the right path. (Rig. 8.66.14)

One inspired teacher can influence hundreds of lives - and through them, shape the future of society.

On Teacher’s Day, let us express gratitude to the noble souls who inspire learning, character, and enlightened lives.

THE TRUE SPIRIT OF SHRI KRISHNA JANMAASHTAMI

Celebrating Janmaashtami is meaningful—but the celebration becomes truly worthwhile when we learn from Krishna’s life and teachings.

Let us renew our commitment to:

Yog — discipline of body, mind, and self

Yajnya — selfless action and contribution

Vedic Knowledge — the pursuit of truth and wisdom

Dharma — righteous living

Rather than simply remembering Krishna, let us ask:

What can we learn from his life—and how can we bring those values into our own?

Happy Shri Krishna Janmaashtami!

न हि ज्ञानेन सदृशं पवित्रमिह विद्यते।
Na hi jnyaanena sadrisham pavitramiha vidyate. (BG 4.38)

There is nothing in this world as purifying as knowledge.

Janmaashtami is a reminder to cultivate clarity over confusion, discipline over impulse, and wisdom over reaction.

Sunday – Festival Day at VSS

This Sunday, all VSS students gathered at the temple at 10:30 AM for a special festival program.

Students had the opportunity to participate in Havan under the guidance of Acharya Ji and make special offerings for Rakhi, seeking blessings for love, harmony, and well-being.

The first six students had the opportunity to sit around the Havan Kund and actively participate in the Havan.

Following the Havan, students who wished to speak or perform were given a couple of minutes to share their thoughts and talents.

Students who wished to participate in the Rakhi ceremony then had the opportunity to tie Rakhi.

The program concluded around 12:45 PM EST, followed by Lunch Prasad, graciously sponsored by our volunteers.

🙏 It was a joyful and meaningful Sunday filled with Vedic learning, devotion, celebration, and togetherness.
