Kaw Prairie Community Church A SEAT FOR YOU
At Kaw Prairie, we believe there's a seat for you. Always. We know many of you have had bad experiences with the church in the past. We understand.

At Kaw Prairie, we are cultivating a community of faith centered in boundless grace, where every person is invited to connect meaningfully, grow courageously, and live purposefully! No matter who you are, where you've been, or what's going on in your life, there's room for you at the table. We welcome people of every race, ethnicity, economic class, marital status, sexual orientation, and faith ba

ckground (or lack of). Christianity hasn't always lived up to its calling. We know the church has left some of you feeling hurt or rejected. And we will be the first to admit, we aren't perfect either. But we will do our best to be open, honest, and welcoming. You belong at Kaw Prairie.

When the Israelites were cast into exile in Babylon, their nation had been conquered by an enemy power, their temple was destroyed, and they were removed from the land God promised to them after being freed from Egypt. They had questions, no answers, no timeline, and no home. The prophet Jeremiah (29:11) says to them, “I know the plans I have in mind for you, declares the LORD; they are plans for peace, not disaster, to give you a future filled with hope.” God will listen to those who pray, who ask for peace, who can put their trust in the Lord and in his timing.

In many cases throughout the Bible, God instructs us to wait and have patience, even during times of trouble and hardship. It is only natural and so common to resist this call, but God’s promise precedes its fulfillment. Being asked to trust not only God’s plan, but also God's timing is when faith must learn to trust what it cannot yet see.

In our society, we have grown accustomed to finding answers instantaneously, especially as the development of technologies only continues to accelerate. While we learn to expect instant answers for the small questions that surface in the midst of a given day—looking up a sport schedule, getting help with a recipe, or identifying a plant that catches our eye—we start to expect the same results with the larger questions in life. The collapse of the gap between our curiosity and its fulfillment that comes with the acceleration of our technology, can cause our impatience to accelerate as well.
