It can be puzzling and even frustrating when people have a problem with us because of our relationship with someone else. Was Jesus engaging in hyperbole when he said, “If they persecuted me, they will also persecute you.”? Why does it seem like the more I follow Jesus, the more opposition I get? Join us this Sunday at CEFC, as we continue our "Learning to Follow” series with a message called, “Radical”. Jesus invites us into his radically new kingdom that will experience radical opposition and requires radical commitment by those who choose to follow him. Our passage is Mark 2:1 – 3:6

Challenge: Read and reread Mark 2:1 - 3:6. How is Jesus speaking to you?

Special Challenge: Continue to read and reread the Gospel of Mark. Read it in one sitting if possible. Ask what it looked like for the disciples to follow Jesus and what it might look like for you to follow Jesus.

Some of us learned to pray it when we were children. Many churches pray it every Sunday. Some of us pray it every day. What do we mean when we pray, “Thy kingdom come”? What did Jesus mean when when he told us to pray, “Thy Kingdom Come”? Join us this Sunday at CEFC, as we continue our "Learning to Follow” series with a message called, “Thy Kingdom Come”. We must seek to expand Jesus’ Kingdom and not to build our own. Our passage is Mark 1:21-45

Challenge: Read and reread Mark 1:21-45. How is Jesus speaking to you?

Special Challenge: Continue to read and reread the Gospel of Mark. Read it in one sitting if possible. Ask what it looked like for the disciples to follow Jesus and what it might look like for you to follow Jesus.

Whether it be road trip, a hike in the Poconos, or a walk in Philly, none of us would follow someone until we were certain of the destination they had in mind. If we decide to follow Jesus, where will he lead us? Join us this Sunday at CEFC, as we continue our "Learning to Follow” series with a message called, “Where?” Jesus invites us to follow him out of our comfort zones and into a combat zone. Our passage is Mark 1:4-20

Challenge: Read and reread Mark 1:4-20. How is Jesus speaking to you?

Special Challenge: Continue to read and reread the Gospel of Mark. Read it in one sitting if possible. Ask what it looked like for the disciples to follow Jesus and what it might look like for you to follow Jesus.

“Follow my posts!” “Follow my lead!” “Follow my example!” We have no shortage of Evites to “Follow me!” waiting in the inbox of our lives. Even Jesus has sent us his own “Follow me!” invitation and marked it “Urgent!”. How should we RSVP to Jesus “Follow me!” invitation? If we want to follow Jesus, how do we begin? Join us this Sunday at CEFC, as we begin our new sermon series called, "Learning to Follow: In a world filled with ‘Follow me!” invitations, we should only follow the One who alone is worth following.” This week’s message is called, “Beginning the Journey”. If we decide to follow Jesus, we must know where we are going and the best way to get there. Our passages are Mark 1:1 and 8:34.

Challenge: Read and reread Mark 8:34. Write it out in your own words as if it’s addressed to you personally.

Special Challenge: Continue to read and reread the Gospel of Mark. Read it in one sitting if possible. Ask what it looked like for the disciples to follow Jesus and what it might look like for you to follow Jesus.
