📣 ONE SERVICE STARTS THIS SUNDAY!

This Sunday, October 25, we'll begin gathering for ONE Sunday service at 10:00 am! Join us as we continue our Kingdom Ethics series with a message on asking God boldly, trusting His goodness, and loving our neighbors well. 🙌

Here’s what’s happening at LSCC:
☕ Community Cafe: Hot breakfast available for purchase, 9:00-10:00 am
👧 Community Kids: Sundays at 10:00 am
📖 Hear & Obey: Sundays at 10:00 am in the Conference Room. Learn to turn Scripture reading into Scripture living!

It’s easier to put someone in a box than to take the time to hear their story.

Before you make assumptions, get curious. You might find that listening is the first step toward loving someone well. 🤍

“Don’t pick on people, jump on their failures, criticize their faults—unless, of course, you want the same treatment. That critical spirit has a way of boomeranging. It’s easy to see a smudge on your neighbor’s face and be oblivious to the ugly sneer on your own. Do you have the nerve to say, ‘Let me wash your face for you,’ when your own face is distorted by contempt? It’s this whole traveling road-show mentality all over again, playing a holier-than-thou part instead of just living your part. Wipe that ugly sneer off your own face, and you might be fit to offer a washcloth to your neighbor.“ - Matthew 7:1-5

🎉 1988. A school gymnasium. Thousands of phone calls. One big vision.

That’s how Lee’s Summit Community Church began! A small group of people invited their neighbors to come be part of something new, and hundreds showed up that first Sunday.

Today, our heart is still the same: saturating Lee’s Summit with the good news of Jesus. We’re grateful to be part of this community and to keep sharing that good news in the places where we live, work, and play.

Have you ever laid awake worrying about something you can’t fix, replaying a conversation, or trying to figure out how everything is going to work out?

Jesus knows how easily our minds can get caught up in tomorrow. In Matthew 6, He reminds us that we are cared for by a Father who sees us, knows what we need, and is already present in the days ahead.

We may not have answers to everything weighing on our hearts, but we can trust that we don’t have to carry it all on our own.
God is already in your tomorrow. ❤️

As the weather gets colder, we have an opportunity to help our neighbors stay warm. ❤️

We’re collecting new and gently used, clean coats for adults and children through Sunday, November 8. All donations will benefit families served by Refuge KC, one of our local ministry partners.

What if Jesus’ teaching on worry is about more than simply telling us not to worry?

In the Sermon on the Mount, Jesus has already taught us how to love our neighbors, pray for our daily bread, forgive others, and store up treasures in heaven. Then He connects those teachings to our worries and reminds us where our focus belongs.

When we make seeking God’s kingdom our priority, we can trust Him with the things we cannot control.

“Seek first his kingdom and his righteousness, and all these things will be given to you as well.” Matthew 6:33

This year, we have another opportunity to help local families served by our partner ministries enjoy a full Thanksgiving meal, and it starts with a simple basket.

🛒 FILL it with the food items on the provided shopping list
❤️ RETURN your filled basket to the Main Lobby by Sunday, November 1

The turkeys are already covered. Thanks to your generosity, we can help provide everything else a family needs for Thanksgiving dinner!
