To the Laurens Community: A Note of Deep Gratitude
As my time serving as pastor of First United Methodist Church comes to a close this week, my heart is incredibly full. Reflecting on the last four years, I am mindful that a church cannot thrive in isolation. It takes an entire community working together to bind up wounds and care for our neighbors.
To every business, local organization, neighbor, and volunteer who has stepped up to support our ministries—especially our food ministries—please accept my deepest thank you. Because of your generosity and shared burden-carrying, we have watched these essential food programs gain incredible strength, ensuring that fewer families in our area go without. It has been a profound joy to watch our community stand together.
While leadership changes, the mission remains. In the very near future, First UMC will welcome a new pastor, Rev. John Bolin, into this wonderful flock. My parting request to our community is simple: please continue to pour your prayers, love, and support into these vital ministries. The need remains great, but our collective capacity to love and serve is even greater.
It has been the privilege of a lifetime to serve and stand with you, Laurens. Thank you for four unforgettable years.
