It may surprise you to see just how applicable the prophet’s words are to our world today - especially this week! Join us tomorrow morning at 9:15 for some great conversation and study of the first two chapters of this short book!

Sometimes it can be tempting to think we have a leg up on others, possessing inside information that others may not have. But, how do we know if what we know is true? This week we’ll take a look at the short book of Second John and consider a deep subject: truth. There should be plenty of good conversation, so join us tomorrow at 9:15!

Join us tomorrow at 9:15 a.m. as celebrate the third Sunday of Advent and consider the source of Christian joy using the Scripture texts which were used by G. F. Handel when he composed his most famous work, "The Messiah." Good music. Good study. Good fellowship. See you there!

If you haven't made it to Sunday School in a while and are worried about jumping into the middle of an ongoing study, this is a great Sunday to come to our class. This week, we start a new short series for Advent! We'll let the famed baroque composer, George Friedrich Handel, guide our way though several passages of Scripture relating to the coming of our Messiah! Come join us tomorrow at 9:15 for a great study, discussion, and Handel's timeless music!

The First Book of Samuel, Chapter 11 might seem to have very little in common with the 1985 cult classic, “Clue,” and it seems that way because it’s true. BUT, it does share one overall theme! Join us tomorrow more at 9:15 to find out the connection! See you tomorrow morning!

Our first President was remarkable because of his service to our nation, but he also stood out among his peers, literally! At a time when the average man stood 5’8”, George Washington was an extraordinary 6’3”. Benjamin Franklin once said, “We always chose him to lead us because he was always the tallest man in the room.“ It seems he was born to be a leader!

With that in mind, this Sunday we’ll see what Washington and Israel’s first king had in common! Read 1 Samuel, Chapter 9 and come join us!

As Americans, we pride ourselves in our the birth of our republic and the way we rid ourselves of a British king, so we might be inclined to read First Samuel, Chapter 8 as a cautionary tale against the dangers of a monarchy. Maybe we are just a little smarter than the people of ancient Israel! Or, is there perhaps more to this passage than just a warning against monarchies? Let's talk about it tomorrow morning at 9:15! Come join us.

"Amazing Grace" may be the best known hymn written by John Newton (1725-1807), but it certainly isn't the only one he penned. I was playing through the hymnal this morning before work and I rediscovered this one. It is set to the same tune as "Immortal, Invisible, God Only Wise." The words just seem perfect for the moment, so I wanted to share them with you. Feel free to share these words of praise and encouragement with others.

Though troubles assail us and dangers affright,
though friends should all fail us and foes all unite,
yet one thing secures us, whatever betide,
the promise assures us, "The Lord will provide."

The birds, without garner or storehouse, are fed;
from them let us learn to trust God for our bread.
His saints what is fitting shall ne'er be denied
so long as 'tis written, "The Lord will provide."

When Satan assails us to stop up our path,
and courage all fails us, we triumph by faith.
He cannot take from us, though oft he has tried,
this heart-cheering promise, "The Lord will provide."

No strength of our own and no goodness we claim;
yet, since we have known of the Savior's great name,
in this our strong tower for safety we hide:
the Lord is our power, "The Lord will provide."
