Religious Education & Faith Formation
New Curriculum: A new curriculum approach is currently being explored for the upcoming school year.
Volunteer Catechists: We welcome and thank parishioners Theresa Melago and Joan McCurdi, who have volunteered to join our faith formation team.
Regionalization: Effective May 27, 2026, St. Rose joined the Regional Faith Formation and Youth Ministry of Greater Latrobe. This region includes St. Vincent Basilica, Partner Parishes of St. John the Evangelist and Holy Family, St. Rose Parish, Partner Parishes of St. Cecilia (Whitney) and Sacred Heart (Youngstown), Holy Trinity Parish (Ligonier), St. Bartholomew Parish (Crabtree), St. James Parish (New Alexandria), Partner Parishes of St. Joseph (Derry), and St. Martin (New Derry). Youth Ministry Director, will be at St. Rose the weekend of June 6 and 7 to introduce himself and share upcoming youth programs.
Parish Life & Operations
CCTV Security System: Installation of the new security camera system is complete. Thank you for your generous support through the Diocesan Lenten Appeal!
New Staff: Please welcome Daniel Marsh, our new facilities maintenance person. Steve Sturnick will also begin his duties as our new custodian as soon as his background clearances are finalized.
Finance Council: We are still looking for two new members for the Parish Finance Council. One parishioner has stepped forward and is completing her clearances.
Upcoming Events & Community News
Feast of the Sacred Heart: Observed on Friday, June 12. In honor of the 250th Independence of our country, Eucharistic Adoration and Consecration will take place immediately following the 8:30 a.m. Mass.
International Potluck: Thank you to everyone who attended the International Potluck Ethnic Dinner on May 23 in celebration of the Solemnity of Pentecost, the birth of the Church! It was a wonderful success with a great turnout and delicious heritage dishes.
Rosary Altar Christian Mothers: The group held its final meeting before the summer break on Wednesday, May 20. Meetings will resume in the fall.
