I Want A Double Portion Of God's Anointing | 2 Kings 2:8-16

🔥 1. You Must Have A Desire For More
Elisha refused to settle for what he had already received. When Elijah asked what he could do for him before being taken away, Elisha boldly said, “I want a double portion of your spirit.”

When Elijah’s mantle fell, Elisha picked it up. The mantle wasn’t simply a symbol of receiving power—it represented the responsibility to continue the work.
God’s anointing isn’t merely for us to feel blessed or important. It is given so that we can serve, minister, influence others, and accomplish God’s purpose.
🌊 5. The Anointing Will Be Tested
Elisha eventually came to the Jordan River. He took Elijah’s mantle, struck the water, and declared, “Where is the Lord God of Elijah?” The waters parted, and Elisha crossed over.
This demonstrates that the same God who worked through Elijah was now working through Elisha. Elisha’s faith had to move from simply watching someone else operate in God’s power to personally trusting God for himself.

The double portion wasn’t about Elisha becoming greater than Elijah. It was about God continuing His work through another generation.
