One of the fastest growing groups of homeless people is seniors, and homelessness makes the medical issues experienced at this time of life so much worse. Raul has had four heart attacks and needs to have heart bypass surgery. But his cardiologist insists that he must have stable housing for recuperation. Raul feels the clock ticking as he works to get into an apartment. Despite all of this, his optimism shines through his ever-present smile. 📣 Scam alert!! A 505 number is texting people impersonating Pastor Hannah. This is not her! If you get a text from a new/different number, or are not sure it's really the pastor, do not reply! Contact the church office or pastor's real number or email to verify. And never purchase or send gift cards or money!

A musical reminder to be aware of email scammers!

How to tell if it is a scam?
- the sender may impersonate a church staff person, saying the message is from "Pastor Hannah" but ALWAYS check the actual email address and make sure it matches .com.
- scammers often solicit you to purchase gift cards as a "gift for staff" or for "someone in need." Church staff will never ask you to purchase gift cards or send money electronically.
- always double check with the Pastor or church office (with a call or send a new email message) on the legitimacy of a request before sending information or money.

Another recent scam trend is email invitations to a "SPECIAL EVENT!" and tells you to click a link to an ecard or evite - VERIFY before clicking any links! It's probably a scam!

🌟Join us this Saturday, Aug 1, for the RRFM! The Really Really Free Market exists because resources belong to the people! We share food, clothes, and skills freely because survival is a collective responsibility. Join us in building a community and life beyond capitalism.

What to expect:
-Free bike repairs all day! Tell a friend 🚲
-Bring gently used items, services, or skills to share and take whatever you need!
-Browse all kinds of stuff, from clothes and books to toys and household goods. If you are looking for something that we don’t have, let us know and we will keep an eye out!
-Grab a mug of hot coffee and meet others in our community, forming relationships is more important than ever. ☕️

Guidelines:
1. Everything is Free - no money, bartering, or trading. Just take what you need!
2. Bring What You Can - If you have extra stuff laying around or bags of clothes in your trunk you’ve been meaning to donate, bring them to the RRFM!
3. Be Kind - Treat all items and participants with respect and gratitude. Conflicts with community members over items will be solved with rock, paper, scissors.✂️

We are excited to welcome neighbors to Peace this Sunday for a back-to-school BBQ! Staff, families, and students from Conlee Elementary and Lynn Middle will join us for lunch and games after church. All are welcome! (And the coolers will be running - inside seating available!)

Come early for worship at 10:00, too, if you want a special back-to-school blessing for your backpack/laptop/self! Students, educators, school staff are welcome to participate in the special prayer. We hope you'll join us!

Mobile Food Pantry is this week and we need your help!

On the third Thursday of every month, we feed 70-100 families through our mobile food distribution, part of Roadrunner Food Bank. Right now we especially need -

*Intake Volunteers (some Spanish helpful)
*Parking Lot Volunteers

Volunteers begin at 7am, parking lot opens at 8am. If you can help, show up this Thursday, July 16th, or contact the church office to be put in touch with the organizer. Thank you!
