All are welcome! Join us for a special Mass of Welcome for three sisters of the Servants of the Pierced Hearts of Jesus and Mary.

Bishop Simon Peter invited the Servants of the Pierced Hearts of Jesus and Mary to establish a presence in the diocese as part of his vision to strengthen evangelization and Catholic identity in the local Church.

The sisters will serve the diocese in a variety of roles:
Sister Alyssa Renée — Director of the Office of Evangelization
Sister Mary Rachel — Office of the Bishop
Sister Clara Maria — Office of Catholic Schools

Founded by Mother Adela Galindo in the Archdiocese of Miami in 1990, the Servants of the Pierced Hearts of Jesus and Mary are a religious family dedicated to evangelization and the formation of the human heart. Their Marian charism calls them to reflect the heart, person and mission of the Blessed Virgin Mary through prayer, formation and service. Learn more about them at https://www.piercedhearts.org/.

A rare relic of St. John Paul II's liquefied blood will be in our diocese from September 18-21. The relic will be at Our Lady of the Rosary here in Larose on Sunday, September 20th from 6pm-9pm along with 5pm mass.

Happy Birthday to Bishop Simon Peter!🎉

Happy 55th Birthday, Bishop Simon Peter! 🎉

Most Rev. Simon Peter Engurait was born in Ngora, a small town in eastern Uganda, the seventh of 14 children. Today, he shepherds the faithful of the Diocese of Houma-Thibodaux, an ocean away from the parish where he first served at the altar as a boy.

His birthday falls on the memorial of St. Augustine, a saint whose words have special meaning for him. When he was introduced to our diocese as bishop-elect, he shared this reflection from St. Augustine: “For you I am a bishop, but with you I am a Christian. The first is an office accepted; the second is a gift received.”

Today, we give thanks for the gift of Bishop Simon Peter and for the faith, joy and pastoral care he brings to our diocesan family.

Happy birthday, Bishop! Our prayers are with you today and every day! 🙏

COME AND SEE WHAT OCIA IS ALL ABOUT!!

Jesus is inviting you to be prepared to join us at the Table and we want to assist you in your preparation!

Our Ministry Team for Christian Initiation is hosting a Come & See Meet & Greet open house on Tuesday, September 1, 2026 from 6 to 7 p.m. in the church parish office. Light refreshments will be served.

This gathering is especially for unbaptized adults interested in becoming fully Catholic by receiving all the Sacraments of Initiation- Baptism, Eucharist, and Confirmation. We also welcome those who may have been be baptized and desire to receive Eucharist and/or Confirmation. OCIA can help those who are already Catholic and want to dive deeper into their faith.

We also welcome children who are beyond the usual age to receive the sacraments but haven't done so yet.

Come and let's talk! Class sessions begin soon!!

So that we are fully prepared for guests, please let us know you are coming by calling the parish office at 693-3433 or emailing [email protected]. If the meeting time is not right for you, please reach out for other arrangements. In the case of children, we need a parent or legal guardian to accompany them.

Happening Sunday, September 20!

A rare and special relic of St. John Paul II is coming to the Diocese of Houma-Thibodaux!

From September 18-21, the faithful will have the opportunity to pray and venerate a first-class relic of St. John Paul II as it visits a few parishes in our diocese.

The relic contains the liquefied blood of St. John Paul II and is one of four such relics in existence. It is the only one designated as a pilgrim relic, allowing it to travel and be made available for public veneration.

We invite you to take part in these special opportunities for prayer and to seek the intercession of St. John Paul II for yourself, your family and our Church.
