Day 2: Walking on Waves, Not Sinking in Storms
Peter didn’t walk on calm water but on chaos, sustained only by his gaze fixed on Jesus. The storm still raged—waves didn’t shrink, winds didn’t still—yet his feet found solid peace. Fear returned when he looked down, but the lesson remained: peace isn’t the absence of trouble but the presence of a Person. Like Peter, believers are called to fix their eyes on the One who says, “Take heart—I’ve overcome.” [01:03:18]

And Peter answered him, “Lord, if it is you, command me to come to you on the water.” He said, “Come.” So Peter got out of the boat and walked on the water and came to Jesus. But when he saw the wind, he was afraid, and beginning to sink he cried out, “Lord, save me.” (Matthew 14:28-30, ESV)

Reflection: Where is your gaze fixed today—on the chaos around you or the Christ who rules it? What would it look like to “come” to Him in your storm?

The Bible doesn't promise a life free from trouble. Instead, it assures us God is our refuge and strength, always present. Jesus Himself said, 'In this world you will have trouble, but take heart, I have overcome the world.' True peace is found in His presence, not in the absence of challenges.

When the world feels like it's falling apart, remember there's a constant source of peace. Even when mountains shake and waters roar, a river of His presence flows, bringing gladness to the city of God.
