Trinity has always appreciated the beauty and symbolism of the vestments and paraments found in the Lutheran tradition. These visual elements help tell the story of the Church Year and remind worshipers of the seasons of faith we journey through together. Wanting to bring some of that richness into our worship, Pator Candice asked asked Miss Daisy to help her with a “special project”.
Miss Daisy has been creating liturgical-colored chalice pall covers, like the beautiful green one pictured here. A chalice pall is the small square cover placed over the communion chalice during worship. Traditionally, it serves the practical purpose of protecting the communion elements from dust and debris, but it also carries deeper meaning. The pall reminds us that the Lord’s Supper is sacred and worthy of our utmost reverence and care. Its color connects the Communion Table to the liturgical season being observed, helping visually reinforce the message and meaning of the Church Year.
🟩Green – Ordinary Time, representing spiritual growth and discipleship
🟪Purple – Advent and Lent, seasons of preparation, reflection, and repentance
⬜️White – Christmas, Easter, and other celebrations of Christ’s purity, joy, and victory
🟥Red – Pentecost and special occasions emphasizing the Holy Spirit, sacrifice, and bold witness
We are so grateful for Miss Daisy’s craftsmanship and servant’s heart. Through these handmade pall covers, she is helping us add beauty, meaning, and tradition to our worship experience. Thank you, Miss Daisy, for using your gifts to glorify God and help bring this vision to life! ❤️🙏🏻✝️
