THANK YOU FOR WORSHIPING WITH SANDY RIDGE AME ZION CHURCH Mission Statement: A UNITED BODY OF BELIEVERS WHO LOVE, WORSHIP, AND MAKE DISCIPLES FOR KINGDOM LIVING.

You don’t know their story…so don’t judge their praise!

You may see the shout, the tears, the dance, or the lifted hands, but you don’t know what God brought them through. You don’t know the prayers they prayed, the battles they fought, the nights they cried, or the doors God opened when they thought there was no way out.

Their praise is connected to their testimony.

So the next time you see somebody praising God like they’ve lost their mind, remember…you may not know what they survived, but God does. Sometimes when you know just how good He’s been, you can’t help but praise Him!

Don’t judge the praise. You don’t know the story.

Worship isn’t about being seen or heard; it’s about acknowledging God’s deliverance and giving Him the adoration He deserves. Were you there when they crucified my Lord?

✨ Covenant Kids Sunday School Update ✨

Today, our Covenant Kids wrapped up a month of learning about worship! We started by checking in on their homework assignment from Matthew 6:33:

"But seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness, and all these things shall be added to you." (Matthew 6:33)

I was encouraged to see that many of the kids completed their reading. To God be the glory! 🙌🏽
We talked about some of the barriers that can keep us from seeking God first, including social media. The kids shared their thoughts, and we discussed practical ways to put God first while still enjoying technology. One suggestion was using platforms like YouTube to listen to Scripture being read aloud or to watch Bible story illustrations before moving on to other content.

We also discussed the importance of worshiping God, not just for what He can do for us, but simply because He is worthy of our worship. At the same time, we were reminded that God faithfully meets our needs because we are precious to Him.

One of the highlights of today's class was letting young Silas step forward and lead us in prayer, both at the beginning and the close of Sunday School. I don't share this to bring attention to him, but to encourage others and to give God all the glory for what He is doing in the hearts and lives of the young people at The Ridge. ❤️

Please continue praying for our children as they grow in their faith and learn what it means to seek God first in every area of their lives.

This morning we ended how we usually start just by allowing the kids to share updates about their week. What worked, what didn’t work, what was bad? What was good, what they improved on, and how they want to get better. You will be amazed at how receptive a child is by just giving them an opportunity to share their truth. What a privilege it is to serve them!

This month at Sandy Ridge, our Covenant Kids are focusing on the theme of Worship. What a powerful lesson and discussion we had this week!

We talked about Lucifer, who was created by God and held a position of honor. He desired the worship and glory that belonged only to God. Because of his pride and rebellion, he was cast out of heaven and thrown down to the earth.

We taught the children that Satan seeks to draw people away from God, but each of us must make a choice about who we will serve. As Joshua declared, “Choose you this day whom ye will serve.” Our prayer is that our children will choose to serve the Lord with all their hearts.

The children were eager to participate and shared what they believe worship is. Some of their responses included praying, singing, praising God, reading the Bible, going to church, helping others, obeying God, and putting God first. It was encouraging to hear how they already recognize that worship is more than just music. Worship is a lifestyle that honors God every day.

We also discussed how God is the only One who has the right to be jealous because He alone is worthy of our devotion, praise, and worship. Unlike human jealousy, God’s jealousy comes from His love for us and His desire for us to seek Him above all else.

The children opened their smartphones and Bibles as we read Matthew 6:33, focusing especially on the first three words: “But seek first…” We emphasized that if they will seek God first, put Him first in their lives, and make Him their priority, God will continue to grow them as worshipers.

Each child made a commitment to read and meditate on Matthew 6:33 every day this week. We look forward to following up with them during our Saturday Enrichment Covenant Kids gathering and hearing how God has been working in their lives.
We thank God for what He is doing at Sandy Ridge! We truly have a good problem. More children are attending, new members are being added, and lives are being impacted by the Gospel. To God be all the glory!

Please join us in praying that God will send more workers into the harvest as we continue to plant and water the future of the Ridge. We believe God is raising up the next generation of worshipers, leaders, and disciples right before our eyes.

“But seek first the kingdom of God, and his righteousness; and all these things shall be added unto you.” -Matthew 6:33

We love the Covenant Kids and have the T-shirts to prove it!
