📚🍬 Covenant Kids Check-In & Review

Reverend Big-TOT did the check in/review for yesterday‘s Sunday school lesson.

As we always do, we started our lesson by checking in with our Covenant Kids family. ❤️ We give everyone an opportunity to share what’s been happening in their lives, celebrate something positive, and express any needs they may have, whether it’s prayer, encouragement, or assistance. That's what family does! Some of the kids shared about their grades, homework challenges, and experiences with bullying. Lo and behold, a couple of our young ladies shared yesterday that they have their first boyfriends!🤦🏾‍♂️

Then it was time for a fun review challenge with a sweet treat incentive, of course! 🍭😋 The kiddos were asked to share something they have learned in Sunday School over the past year, and they did an amazing job!

🎥 Featured in this video is our young brother, Nahaj. Recently, Nahaj gave his life to the Lord, and we are celebrating what God is doing in his life! 🙌🏽 He recently got a new camera and loves taking pictures. He also says he's going to be an actor one day! 🎬📸

But most importantly, listen to the Word of God coming from this babe in Christ. What a blessing it is to hear God's truth hidden in the hearts of our children. To God be all the glory! 🙏🏽✨

💚 Girl Scout Troop 1110 Gives Back! 💚

On Saturday, September 19, Girl Scout Troop 1110 of Sandy Ridge AME Zion Church had the privilege of spending the morning serving and fellowshipping with the residents of The Landings of Cabarrus as part of our annual Give Back Project.

With the generous support of our Girl Scout families, leaders, Sandy Ridge church family, and community, Troop 1110 collected more than 400 personal-care, hygiene, comfort, and activity items for the residents.

During their visit, the girls presented handmade Thinking of You cards, spent time talking and visiting with residents, and shared the Girl Scout song “Make New Friends.”

Residents who joined them in the dining room, as well as those they visited individually in their rooms, were able to personally select items they wanted or needed from the donations. The remaining items were given to the Activities Department to be used for future resident needs, activities, and prizes.

Most importantly, our girls had the opportunity to put the Girl Scout Promise and Law into action by being friendly and helpful, considerate and caring, and helping to make the world a better place. The morning was filled with smiles, conversations, laughter, music, and new friendships, and Troop 1110 was honored to be invited back for another visit.
