Kannapolis City Schools

Current weather forecasts are projecting significant amounts of rain and very strong wind gusts throughout much of the day tomorrow. Due to the strong possibility for hazardous road conditions, Kannapolis City Schools will not have school for students on Friday, September 27, 2024. All after-school activities are also canceled for this evening, Thursday, September 26, 2024.

Rowan-Salisbury School System advising that due to the impending inclement weather expected in and around Rowan County for tomorrow, Friday, September 27, RSS will have an inclement weather e-learning day for all students. This means that students will access their lessons online through Canvas or utilize materials sent home today with our students. Students have up to five days to submit the assignments. As a reminder, all afternoon and evening activities for our schools are canceled for today, Thursday, September 26.

Due to the potential for strong winds and flooding related to Hurricane Helene, ALL Cabarrus County Schools will be CLOSED for students on Friday, September 27, 2024. There will not be a make-up day due to additional hours built into the calendar.

KIDS:PLUS will also be closed on Friday, Sept. 27th, but will continue to operate on a normal schedule for Thursday, Sept. 26th.

In addition, ALL athletic and extra-curricular events and activities are canceled for Thursday, September 26th and Friday, September 27th.

We will be holding a "field day" for kids on August 3rd!! Bounce Houses, games, prizes, food and drink, etc!! Come out and let your kids have some fun before school starts back!! Meet us at Rose Hill Missionary Baptist Church Kannapolis from 2pm-6pm!!

(Parents must stay at the location with their children, children of all ages are welcome)

Positivity!

We like to start our classes off with asking the children:

"What is something good that has happened to you this past week?"

This not only helps them reflect on the week positively, but stop during the week and think "this is good/nice" because we want kids to be able to have something to smile about! From the small things like getting enough rest, to the bigger things like playing or winning their favorite sports!

CCEM Children's Social 2023 was a success! Although we didn't get many pictures (we were too busy having fun!) The adults and children enjoyed a delicious meal at Chophouse 101 and then some bowling and karaoke at bowling!

The kids went on a field trip today to Almond Farm, LLC and had a BLAST! Hayride, corn maze, tractors, etc. They even got to grab some candy!

We would like to extend our heartfelt appreciation to Zion and Jonathan for leading this trip, and another thank you to Jonathan for creating this amazing video for us all to enjoy! You guys are amazing!
