Today (Wednesday) at 7:30pm, Deacon Tom will lead a Benediction Prayer Service for the Poor Clares at their monastery on Rocky River Drive. They have a beautiful adoration chapel that is open to the public, and you are welcome to attend.

For those not familiar...the chapel at Poor Clares is on the opposite side of the building from the parking lot. Just follow the sidewalk along the front of the building and head up the short set of stairs on the other side.

On Sept 8...nine months after her Immaculate Conception on Dec 8...the Church celebrates the birth of the Blessed Virgin Mary.

The Bible does not record details of Mary’s infancy or early life but non-authoritative sources, such as the Protoevangelium of James, recount some of the Church’s traditional beliefs about Mary’s nativity.

In the words of Saint John Vianney, “Let us live as the Blessed Virgin lived: loving God only, desiring God only, trying to please God only in all that we do.”

The Season of Creation is a time to renew our relationship with our Creator and all creation through celebration, conversion, and commitment together. Celebrated annually from Sept 1 to Oct 4—the Feast of Saint Francis of Assisi—this ecumenical season mobilizes churches, faith-based organizations, and communities worldwide to respond to the ecological crisis.

We will be offering some special events during this season:
Sept 17, 6:30pm - Rosary for Creation
Oct 3, 7:30pm - Dormition of St Francis of Assisi
Oct 4, 1pm - Blessing of Pets
Oct 4, 4pm - Rosary Coast-to-Coast

We are happy to offer three faith-formation options for children in non-Catholic schools. These programs all follow the school-year calendar, beginning in Sept and ending in early May. We will feature one of our options each day thru Fri.

Traditional Classroom PSR Model - Students meet with catechists by grade level to engage in meaningful lessons. Students study from the Sophia Institute Spirit of Truth series. This option takes place at Saint Luke on Mondays from 6:30–7:30pm.

Classroom PSR will begin in mid-September. Please visit the Saint Luke website for more information and to register.

Catechesis of the Good Shepherd is a Montessori-inspired approach to the religious formation of children, rooted in Sacred Scripture, liturgy, and respect for the child's rich relationship with God. The children gather in a specially prepared space called an atrium. A typical session includes prayer, a presentation on Scripture or liturgy, and time for the children to work with the prepared materials and quietly ponder the mysteries presented.

The Level 1 atrium is for children ages 3-6. Children must be potty-trained and bathroom independent. The Level 2 atrium is for ages 6-9, and Level 3 is for ages 10+ with previous Level 2 experience.

Classes meet at St James on Mondays 4-5:30pm or Wednesdays 6:30-8pm (limited spots available). To register, please contact Colleen Houk at the parish office.
