for a modern come as you are worship with the impact band. What is Impact? At Impact we are anything but traditional.

There are many people in our community who are seeking a new way to worship God. Some may not yet know about Jesus and the Good News. Some may have wandered away from the church or become bored with traditional worship. The impact Band leads us in contemporary Christian music as well as secular music that speaks to our message. We use media and video clips to aid our themed message and worship. Pa

stor Laura works with a worship team to create memorable and experiential worship that speaks to Christians in the 21st century. At impact we are centered on personal spiritual growth, connecting with others, and serving the local community and world!

Don’t forget to pause and pray today at 10am. Set an alarm on your phone. How is the Spirit moving in your life?

The Spirit that moved upon Peter and the disciples in Acts 2, and who “strangely warmed” John Wesley’s heart on Aldersgate Street on May 24, 1738, is in our midst today. During Pastor Robin's message today, we all prayed together several times, “Spirit of the Living God, set our hearts on fire!” She also challenged the church to “Pause and Pray” every day at 10:00 am. Pray for one another, our church’s ministries, and our leaders that the Spirit of the Living God will surely set our hearts on fire. We can’t wait to see what new thing God will do among us.

Lakewood UMC will continue its 150th Anniversary celebration this Sunday, April 12. This specific date was chosen as it is closest to the date on which the land for the original church building was purchased on April 10, 1876. We will mark the occasion with a combined worship service at 10am in the sanctuary, followed by a catered luncheon in Daniels Hall where we will hear reflections from some of our former pastors.

YOU are an important part of our history and ministry, and we want to celebrate with you.
