Blanket Sunday - Share the Warmth in Northeast Ohio

The Society of St. Vincent de Pauls 40th Annual Blanket Sunday will take place the weekend of October 3-4. Your monetary donations help purchase thousands of warm blankets that are distributed directly to people in need throughout Northeast Ohio through hunger centers, parish groups, Labre programs, and other organizations. Donations may be made at our parishes during the October 3-4 weekend, online at BlanketSunday.org, or by mailing a check to SVDP. 1404 E. 9th St.. Cleveland, OH 44114. St. Vincent De Paul (Lakewood)

The Saint Vincent de Paul Society at St Clement takes calls for all three parishes. This society was aggregated on September 16th 1935. We have been serving the poor and vulnerable for 91 years. Perhaps it is providential that our ministry fair is happening near our anniversary. If you would like to find out more about this ministry stop by and see us after Mass. St. Clement and St. James Parishes will celebrate Stewardship Weekend on September 19 & 20, followed by St. Luke Parish on September 26 & 27. Following the weekend Masses, parishioners will have an opportunity to meet ministry leaders and members, learn more about the many ministries and opportunities available throughout our parishes, ask questions, and discover ways to become more involved in the life of our Catholic community. Whether you are looking for a new way to serve, interested in learning what happens behind the scenes, or simply want to meet others involved in parish life, we encourage you to stop by. Refreshments will be provided. Come see what our parishes have to offer and consider how God may be calling you to share your time and talents!

PSR & Sacramental Preparation in the Lakewood Catholic Parishes

Registration is underway for PSR and Sacramental Preparation throughout the Lakewood Catholic Parishes. Families with children attending public or non-Catholic schools may choose from three PSR options:
Family PSR, with at-home Pflaum Gospel Weeklies and periodic gatherings at St. Clement;
Catechesis of the Good Shepherd, a Montessori-inspired program offered at St. James; or
Traditional Classroom PSR, meeting at St. Luke.
A Family PSR parent meeting will be held Sunday, September 13 at 6:30_p.m. in the St. Clement Church Hall.
Sacramental Preparation: Preparation for First Reconciliation and First Holy Communion traditionally begins in 2nd grade. A First Communion parent meeting will be held Tuesday, September _22 at _6:30 p.m. in the St. James Parish Hall. Confirmation Preparation begins in 7th grade and continues through 8th grade. A parent meeting for 8th grade Confirmation families will be held Tuesday, September 15 at 6:30 p.m. in McBride Hall at St. Luke. Families should visit the Confirmation Preparation page on the St. Luke website for additional information anc registration.

"We worked to remember departed brother parishioner and fellow Knight, Warren Speer We helped fix and build what a handyman had left behind before he departed us for Heaven.
Sometimes the best way to remember someone dear to us is to come together, pray, work side by side, and share a beautiful moment with Fr Peter Paul blessing the benches as a place for us all to pray and reflect.
The next project is working on the wall behind us in the photo and painting the Mother Mary statue."
