We invite you to learn about Lakewood Congregational Church, a member of the United Church of Christ, a Protestant denomination rich in heritage and vibrant in its extravagant welcome to all people. We are the “God Is Still Speaking” Church which celebrates the traditions of the past while not imprisoning God within ancient creeds. We use Scriptures as the foundation of our faith and also seek to

discern how God is still speaking today. We are a church of great diversity of thought with an even greater unity in purpose: to share the Good News of God’s love for all people and to be a transforming ministry in our community and the world. If you are seeking a community of faith that celebrates the ability to both feel and think, a community of faith that wants to include and not exclude, a community of faith that worships the God of hope and transformation, then you have found your home with us!

Our Prophetic Advocacy Wall has been growing, growing, growing. We’re building a better world by imagining what is possible. This Sunday? ORANGE! What should we add?

God spoke through the Prophet Ezekiel: "Woe to the shepherds who tend only to themselves! Shouldn’t shepherds tend the flock? You drink the milk, you wear the wool, and you slaughter the fat animals, but you don’t tend the flock. You don’t strengthen the weak, heal the sick, bind up the injured, bring back the strays, or seek out the lost; but instead you use force to rule them with injustice."

Self-centered leadership is all too familiar: in churches, governments, workplaces, and
families. Since before Ezekiel's time, and through Jesus' time, and into today, we are called to lead in a better way— one in which we tend to each others needs and to the needs of our community.

This Sunday is the fourth Sunday of Lent. Join us at 10 AM in person or on livestream.

Join us tonight for an hour of reflection with a brief prayer service followed by time to walk our canvas labyrinth and/or reflect at a few different prayer stations. An excellent way to pause in the middle of the season of Lent and connect with God and with your own heart. Hope to see you there!

Beloved children of God, as you journey through the wild wilderness of everyday life, may you treat every person you encounter with compassion and dignity. And may you see the image of God all around you.

Join us Sunday March 8th at 10:00 for the Third Sunday of Lent. We will also joyfully welcome several new members to LCC during worship!

Our focus scripture includes Numbers 27:1-11 · Matthew 15:21-28

Have you added to our Prophetic Advocacy Wall yet?

This Lenten art project is in the back of our sanctuary with an invitation to write “acts of imagination” or “prayers for a remade world” on the strips of fabric and tie them into the mesh each week. By Easter, the wall will be covered in our colorful, collective prayers.

Want to add a prayer but can’t make it to church? Comment here and we’ll add it for you!

Here are a few examples:
- I pray to renew our hope.
- peace is louder than fear.
- a table long enough for everyone.
- I imagine a world with clean water for everyone.
- I pray for a world without war.
- strengthen the weary.

Sunday March 1 is the Second Sunday of Lent. As we walk through the wild wilderness of Lent, we imagine a world where all creation is at peace. We imagine a world without war, where creation flourishes and children are safe.

Our scripture includes Luke 6:17-36 and James 1:19-27.

Worship this week includes Holy Communion, which is open to all.
